Open chords and slide down fret by fret.. and learn bass chord.. i.e. open E slide down a fret F next F# G G# A.. 5 feet from there ABC of course add #/b's start over at 12 fret

These chords are in different places on the neck, but they are still "root" position, root in the bass. What about the other inversions? That's how I sometimes learn chords all over the neck. Must be the jazz guitarist in me lol

I’ve gone back and forth playing guitar for the past few years self taught. I have been at a plateau for awhile, with no sense of where to grow. Your videos have been just the thing I’ve been looking for but not knowing. Love the lessons 🙌

I finally got that 'Aha' moment when I realised the logic you were portraying on the fretboard. This helped a lot, thanks for the help.

I read some of your comments. I like your style of explaining your techniques and one person didn’t read the intermediate guitar. Keep doing what you’re doing. When you went from the Ab to the G you correctly said 1/2 step but from the F to the F you said 2 steps instead of 1 step. But don’t change your style! You did a great job!!!!

Hi Kerry, I love playing soul and rock and roll. I really enjoy your methods of teaching. Maybe you can help me understand why I have an easier time and feel producing these Jazz chords which seem to produce music/melody almost immediately than when I try switching to even basic chords from a AM to 1st F the transitions are much more difficult and frustrating because if its not smooth it doesn't sound good ! I know timing and rhythm play a part but is there more that I need to understand? I always thought that Jazz/r&B with the exception to really difficult chords was harder to play than basic rock and roll like eg Mr Jones. Am, F, Dm, G. If I don't hit those perfect in the proper swing timing it wont sound good ! Thanks!
