31:13 OMG, _that's_ how the Russian informant died?! For the life of me, I couldn't understand what the hell happened the first time I saw this. I re-watched his 'death' three times before I gave up - my brain just couldn't fathom how having your opponent in a headlock on the ground, being _completely_ free to move around, somehow equals death. I- I just couldn't see it, lol. But thanks for clearing that up! Nice video. I await the next. :D

Instead of saying the security of the device could cause the data to be wiped, the writers should have made the ex say to her "we don't know who could be listening on the other side. If Sergei was involved with some bad people, I don't want to risk them finding us." That would have caused some tension and forced her to try and negotiate in spite of the risks.

That's a good point. It's funny too because in a later episode they take precautions to make sure no one is watching or listening to them but they don't do that AT ALL in this episode

I remember watching that "Suicide by fire," scene and thinking, oh wow, that thing they are working on, it has something to do with splitting up timelines and parallel universes, GREAT, where each consequence plays out regardless of what you choose, so when he killed himself, despite already being dead, I assumed DEVS is the thing that brought him back, only for himself to get killed again. I was so disappointed with what we eventually did get, as both of you apparently are. While admittedly what I had in my head wasn't exactly original, it was still a damn sight better than what we did get. Also, once we do get the reveal, when you think back, Forrest's actions make no sense but I'll save my annoyances for those parts. This channel is very interesting, I hope you keep growing.

Adding the canned laughter & making those horrific scenes mildly watchable must have been a painful process. Makes you feel sorry for people that work for the likes of American late-night shows, listening constantly to non-jokes & trying badly to time the fake applause must be soul destroying.... ...loooking forward to the next episode :D
@CapitalOOpinions4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I don't envy the people who have to "sweeten" late night shows and comedy specials. Genuine laughter is a weird thing to fake, not just cause it's dishonest, but getting the timing, rhythm, and intensity of canned laughter right is weirdly difficult, even for this obviously fake comic relief homeless man bit.
@PunksterOS4 жыл бұрын
@@CapitalOOpinions While it absolutely is canned laughter the laughter comes from different performances and different times. For instance, you've heard of the warm-up act, I assume? They are done by up and coming comedians, well, what they do is to film the audience for reactions and laughter, then place that in the live show later on. Giving them more to work with. If they do not get what they needed, they then go out and ask the audience to perform for them and film it but this would have happened from anything up to 12 hours before the show it is used for is even live. They also instruct some people to turn towards each other, while laughing and applauding as if what they said was some hilarious piece of wisdom, the people who do this are usually superfans of the show/presenter etc. and they'll happily oblige. Another trick, if what they have to work with is really weak, is to record the audience while watching something that actually is funny on a big TV screen, which is put there for their "entertainment" until the real show begins, then they capture and use that footage to use later instead. This is why you have to sign contracts, so as not to expose these details. If you do expose it, they will attempt to ruin you via lawsuits or blacklisting to ensure that you'll never work in the town again. Point is; it is all smoke and mirrors, all of the time. The executives have too much money riding on these shows and so they cannot leave anything to chance but I'm sure you are all aware of this last fact. BTW, hello, Brick.

On the note of suicide by fire, people have done it like Buddhist monks in order to martyr themselves for political or religious reasons but yeah if someone sets fire to themselves then it most likely isnt depression considering depressed people committing suicide typically want a quick painless death as a way out of life. I'm sorry, I see all the extra terrible you're showing me, but I'm still stuck at her supposedly being some kind of specialist in encryption who has zero tools, knowledge, or ideas to apply to a (4 year old!!) encryption. I mean, if she'd spent some serious time and effort trying, but failed using her own skills, and then asked for help, that's one thing, but she approached it like a middle aged normie trying to guess her daughter's phone password. And then on top of that we're supposed to believe a person who's interested enough in anything related to the concept of cryptography has never done enough research to encounter the most basic of spy stories or history? Why? Why not give her a different computer related job? Why encryption specifically when you *know* she's going to be relying on someone else for that exact thing in like two seconds? WHY

Nope, nope, superior future, still wears air pods... Wait... if the project was to project to the past, why was the director so excited to see Sergei's team projecting the future of the worm in the first episode? 'You're close, but you're working in the wrong direction...' Nope, doesn't quite work like that. Side note: I love that KZbin is trying to sell Devs on the sidebar there... that's hilarious.

I... ah... I believed you when you said it only got worse from here, but I didn't expect it to go downhill this fast. Good grief. But just because it's fun to do, I think I can play devil's advocate for one minor thing here: Kenton thinking/knowing the guy's a Russian spy who's trying to recruit Lily, regardless of whether he heard their conversation. If he did hear it, that's proof, but I agree that it's silly that neither of them heard him say "that's fucking great" if he could hear them. If he didn't hear them, and just saw them meeting... well, in "Never Trust A Ruskie" (episode 1), Kent suspected both Sergei and Lily of being spies based solely on their nationalities, and in Sergei's case that suspicion was confirmed. Just seeing Lily meeting with some strange fellow in a suit would be enough for him to think "oh, another damn spy". ... Though to backpedal on my defense, if this doesn't have some negative consequences in the coming episodes (Kenton went out of his way to confront someone on either a not-recorded conversation, or a hunch; the guy wasn't a direct threat to the company, and with the app deleted and no recordings Kent has no evidence to defend himself... and this was in a [I'm assuming] public car park, not the middle of a forest on company grounds like with Sergei, so cover-up's going to be much tougher), I am going to be disappointed... I'm going to be disappointed, aren't I?
