What helped me stop buying unnecessary clothes, was that I stopped creating scenarios and envisioning possibilities for everything I saw in the store, now I simply buy what I will actually wear and not what I would wear in a dream situation that can’t really be recreated !

I heard one stylist saying this phrase: “Ask yourself - Am I gonna wear this and style it 10 times? If the answer is yes, then you should keep it, if no, then throw it away.” It actually really helped me. 🙌🏼✨ But I try to clear my closet 2 times in a year.

Me too! When I find a piece of clothing I absolutely love, I go back to the store and get an extra if I can find it just in case, lol. This is ONLY on rare occasions, but I just hate when I have a piece I adore and it gets ruined somehow (stain, rip, etc.) and I have to throw it out, which is why I like to have a backup at times.

I clean out my closet every month. Crazy but it helps me keep track of what I actually wear and what I "think" I wear. Every time I clean it I always ask myself "If I saw this at the store, would I buy it?" If the answer is no, I throw it out/donate it! Go for sustainable fashion rather than fast fashion

I utilize the Konmari Method when cleaning out my closet. If it sparks joy, KEEP IT! If there is a questioning moment or hesitation… TOSS IT! You should only wear clothes that you totally love ❤️. If there is something that you don’t like about an article of clothing, you will most likely avoid it when searching for something to wear.

Loved this! When I do my closet cleaning, I have to take into consideration my lifestyle. Like it's nice to have nice clothes buttttt in reality, I'm rarely going to nice places. The majority of the time with my kind of work (backstage theater work) or helping in the home garden, I need clothes that I know I'm not afraid to get dirty. On the other hand, I think about clothes I wear all the time as my essentials for every season whether causal or formal. And for budget friendly reasons, I ask myself is there a way I can transform this clothing item to give it new life rather than buying a new piece? Like dyeing it a different color for example.

This is considered this round 1 of 3 for my closet clean up strategy. Rounds: 1) Discard things you know aren't working 2) Try on the ones you chose to keep and reevaluate on fit, versatility, & quality 3) See if you can refashion or tailor it Sometimes replacing the buttons or having the sleeve taken up makes all the difference.

The silk dress would’ve been a nice dress to have on vacation when you are at a resort. Also the navy dress with the puffer sleeves could’ve been taken to the cleaners and made into a blouse and long skirt to wear with either pumps or tall country boots which is very much the trend fall2021 especially if it’s ribbed. The puffs on the sleeves hides the undesired parts of your arms and highlights the neck, collar bone and shoulders.

I liked the blue dressed that cinched her in. As a Navy Sailor Claudette that is inaccurate. The only ones who can wear gold in uniform are in Khaki uniforms. =) When I think about keeping stuff that is too small I always have to think to myself, Will I do the work, so I can wear it again? Sometimes it's a no. I love the leggings. They are pants to me.
