An Extensive Guide to Burn [Limbus Company]

Burn is the simplest of the 7 major archetypes of Limbus Company, and for some reason has the least support, requiring you to run some non-Burn stuff for the most effective team. It's also my personal favorite archetype to build, so I have a good amount of experience and insight to offer on the teambuilding side of things.

My theory is that Ryoshu is going to get an absolutely insane Burn ID as the capstone of her season. Her base EGO is about burn, her first EGO was the season 1 main page EGO and is about Burn, and her whole story that she's based on ends with a little girl being burned alive for a piece of art. I think they gave her a mid 00 Liu ID specifically because they've been planning for her to get an insane 000 burn ID since the beginning.

Something I've noticed is base Yi Sang's support passive actually activates **after** Dawn Sinclairs Volatile Passion sanity loss. Meaning, Base Yi Sang is actually incredibly more valuable for Dawn Sinclair than Ring, negating 10sp loss from volatile passion that no other passive can do for sinclair (all other sp gain passives activate before, so it doesnt help when volitile makes you lose sp and make you start next turn at 10sp). Base Sang's passive is Gloom owned, so Dawn already has it covered too

Drumstick still has *some* value in MD, I'd argue. Many skills don't actually inflict Count, meaning that you'll lose your burn stacking in unfocused encounters. Having it gives the comfort of making human battles a little faster, but admittedly it's not that important. All this value completely disappears once you get Soothe the Dead, though. Everything either dies in the amount of time it lasts, or you'll hit it enough to keep Count up anyways.

Counterpoint, the damage numbers become even funnier with Glimpse of Flames when you're inflicting one limbillion extra burn count. Necessary for nuking things when you already have glimpse of flames and soothe the dead? No, definitely not. But it is very funny. Big numbers make brain go brrrrrrr

Also a good thing to add is that the 2 good zwei ids(Faust and Gregor) are pretty good as slot fillers for when you have enough ids that can inflict burn, both help to draw out aggro for the starting turns so you have a chance to apply burn to make your skills better with Gregor helping to fix the Gluttony problem and access to Bygone Days for SP for Sinclair and Faust having access to Fluid Sac covering both SP and HP healing

My burn team consists of the "Good Liu Trio" (Ishmnael, Rodion, and Ryoshu), Magic Bullet Outis, Dawn Office Sinclair and Zwei Gregor for the last slot. Zwei Gregor, just fill in most the holes the burn team is missing (Sloth, Gluttony, and additional Gloom resources) and Bygone Days for SP as you mentioned. I also use his Garden of Thorns E.G.O. (with the rare Rodion Pursuance if I have extra sloth, or Lantern from Sinclair) for healing. Also the buffs Garden of Thorns provides via Wrath reson is nice too.

@@silxer3154 Yeah, that’s my exact team as well. I tend to have Gregor in slot 1 for the first few battles (to quickly get base Hong’s passive online for Dawnclair), and then switch him to the rear since the others have better clash power. Used to do it with Regret Faust, but with Tremor getting more attention, I’ve been making a team for that (replacing Rupture since that never seemed to work well for me and I only need 6 teams for full Starlight) and need her for that.

Small correction: Capote meursault’s corrosion actually inflicts burn and burn count on random units instead of random enemies, so it’s not all guaranteed to go on the enemies

Correct, the requirement now to get into E.G.O. state is 40+ SP which does make a big difference (like against those Canto 6 enemeis that lower your SP a bit in a clash for example).

If you’re recommending non burn ID’s to substitute for the BJ boys then Rabbit Heath is as solid (if not more so) than ever. He has: -Wrath S1 for easy wrath A-res and it’s a 3 coin skill that’ll enjoy all the wrath DMG up/fragility. -gluttony S2… enough said really -envy S3, helping top up that envy store and it doesn’t hurt that it’s Quick Suppression - finally, although we write off his passive as unnecessary for him, he can consistently get it off in a burn team which will keep his S2 and S3 at max potential more often. Other than that he’s Rabbit Heath… he’s fantastic in any team but is propped up that little bit more in such a wrath centric team. Only downside is no sloth generation but if you’re happy with your burn generation then trading in the capotes for a QS is not unreasonable seeing as Ardor is now easier to fuel in capotes stead

You can also substitute Roseate Desire instead of Capote on Ishmael. Capote is nice, but total speed control is very powerful on a team that isn't very tanky, which burn isn't.

Idk if its been mentioned yet but there's an error in liu rodion's section. The passive is +10% damage for every 6 burn potency not count as you put in the video's graphic. Great video though, keep up the great work ❤️

I've been using Seven Yi Sang instead of Ring Sang in MD burn team just because he consistently outspeeds the other ids with his 5-8 speed. This lets him fire off 4th match more consistently before the others and fulfilling their x burn coin conditions on 5 enemies

I don't know why you didn't mention Garden of Thorns Gregor. I always use it when I play burn team. 22% of Max HP 4 allies with the lowest HP percentages (7 with Reson.). Maybe 14 resources for this is a bit expensive, but the burn team is one of the teams that can easily get 6 A-Reson but even without it there is still a good heal

Personally, i actually run Kraust *on* my burn team, she adds on just a bit more envy, her s2 and evade provide some good consistency, s3 can restore more sp to dawn, whispers is whispers, when i can actual fuel it her base ego is good for dawn, and lastly, fluid sac. 9:2 also isn’t bad on her whenever she's actually moving near the front. Sadly i can't run liu rodya abd FMF bc i don't have her and i barely played progressed battlepass during seasons 1 and 2 tho. I have been thinking of getting liu rodya after i shard rimeshank tho

Ok I got defend my boys Liu gregor and mersault Regret and capote makes Liu gregor clash really well especially being a kind of tank that’s not really tank (why doesn’t he have agro) Which means he can deal a lot of burn and clash well, AND spread burn he is great liu gregor deals a lot of damage, like a lot of damage I’ve seen him out damage liu Ishmael that’s how much damage he deals, and he out puts a lot of burn potency the only ID beating him being dawn clair and he has a SP healing ego I know you all have that is fueled alright on a burn team, bygone days, 15 SP to two ally’s is nothing to scoff at, this SP heal can help ego reliant IDs get back some of there SP, and also dawn clair and magic bullet outis use SP as a resource making his addition even more valid AND in places where you fight a lot of enemy’s or there’s peons you can kill in a boss fight liu Gregor, with bygone days passive can give you gluteny similar to liu ryoshu And because both of these IDS have lust and sloth they can help heal MORE SP via nfaust passive and LCB hong lu passive

I honestly kinda hate dark flame Outis, mostly because battles just don't last long enough to properly build dark flame That goes for both focused and regular encounters, too You'd really only be able to build up the bullets necessary in like, extremely long battles such as the canto 5 or 6 boss

While it is better, it's also harder to get Gloom in a burn team, so Ring Yi's is easier to fuel.

@@kaskozhuk4158 i would't say easier but faster instead while harder to get you can get resources just by using the skills you don't even need to win the clash although you can get it earlier if the fight has waves or carry on resources you can make it work by the second or third turn if it's normal battle if it is a boss fight like story chapters you can solo or use 2 or 3 characters after all sp healing boss are a pain if you don't solo it.
