In this video I spent an evening at Violet Town on Victoria's North East Line. The North East Line can be a mixed bag; you can hang around and get a lot of action or literally absolutely nothing. This occasion though was a rather extraordinary evening with a number of different passenger and freight trains passing the station in a relatively short period of time. We see the usual V/Line N Class locomotives hauling Albury services, and the Melbourne-bound NSW Trainlink XPT which was running around an hour and a half late.
However we see multiple different freight trains mostly heading north in a relatively short period of time; literally one after the other! We start with a QUBE cement train with a VL, GL & 80 Class locomotives, Specialised Containerised Transit (SCT) Logistics 7MB9 with SCT002, SCT010 & SCT005, Pacific National 7MC2 with NR4 & NR49, Southern Shorthaul Railroad (SSR) 7MC5 grain train with CLF4, S311 & CLF2, and a southbound Pacific National grain train with BL31 & BL26. Thanks to all the drivers for the friendly horn shows too!
