I was once a drug addict as a teenager. On tv one day there was a preacher that said " Jesus loves you" something happened to my heart that day and I said ok if you're up there I need, and gave s list of what I know I needed to get out of the life I'm living. Within a month I had everything on that list and was miraculously delivered. The Lord later led me yo a pentecostal church through a lady and that Sunday recieved the anointing of the Holy Spirit and I spoke in tongues. I spent a couple of years in the church and came to a knowledge of doctrines not really being taught. Moving forward, the Lord taught me there's many churches, they are different and all of them have a certain truth, all of them have certain lies. This is why we are to seek the Lord and let him leed us into all wisdom and knowledge and of his will for us. I'm born again and obedience to the word with the fear of the Lord gives you the peace of the Lord. 🙏 This is why we must not judge but speak the truth in love. ❤

Amazing testimony, full of wisdom and practical guidance. We are to "be filled with the Holy Spirit" but not to camp out in the Wilderness, but "moving forward" (as you said) escape denominationalism and enter the promised land of the fulness of Christ. We as a unified body, the Church, must work toward that end now, and brother Francis is helping to lead the way.

About six years ago the Lord got me to the point where I had finished a walk of moving away from the divisiveness I had been taught. I shared my conclusions with a mentor who had been like a dad to me for 30 years. I did not ask him to agree... I simply shared the joy of having come to the conclusion that I thought that several other "circles" loved and served Jesus and were probably going to heaven. He turned his back on me as a heratic and it ended our relationship. Francis and I come from the same theological background so he knows what I'm talking about. I came to Christ "in this circle" in high school and started to have my eyes opened in college when our Christian group worked with "one of those groups." My home church people warned me about the evil that could come about from that kind of thing when I visited home from college but it started my prayer journey of 30 years asking for God to sort out this conflict. I got saved in a Pentecostal church as a young man. The last 11 years I have been attending a Calvary Chapel and have learned to read the word verse by verse chapter by chapter. I think it’s ok to have a dividing line with doctrine but it’s NOT ok to judge other Christians and say that they are not saved because you don’t agree with their theology. This is why our walk with Jesus is a personal relationship. The Bible is our guide as we wrestle with this denominational differences that will end when we get to heaven.

Yes, to an extent. But the apostles and Jesus himself warn us about those who profess to know God but do not keep his commandments, especially false prophets. Examples - Paul: 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Ephesians 5:5. John: 1 John 2:4, 1 John 3:10 Jesus: Matthew 7:15-20.
@doctor1alex3 жыл бұрын
So we shouldn’t have fellowship with professing Christians who live knowingly in unrepentant sin - 1 Corinthians 5:9-11, 2 Thessalonians 3:14. I also won’t have fellowship with those who preach another gospel - Galatians 1:8. It’s generally quite obvious to tell who trusts in the Lord and loves Him, regardless of their denomination. But it’s still of the upmost importance to strive for doctrinal purity, because it’s for the glory of God to worship Him according to His will.
@mariasoniamoreno34333 жыл бұрын
@@doctor1alex I am a Catholic who agrees with you. But to achieve doctrinal purity, you should read the Bible in the light of the history of the Church, not just believe the doctrines of men (Luther, Calvin, etc). How about reading the books left by the church fathers who learned directly from the apostles? Their books are available to anyone who cares to learn.
@doctor1alex3 жыл бұрын
@@mariasoniamoreno3433 I do read the writings of the early church fathers. I think all Christians should aim to also. But we must realise that the early church writings are not authoritative in the same way the apostles are. And there are a LOT of different views in the early church. What I admire in the writings of Luther and Calvin is that, whilst also being exceptionally knowledgeable about the writings of the early church, they derived their theology from the Scriptures and measured all teaching by it. Simply by reading Calvin’s Institutes one can see how he both commends and rebukes the historic teachings of the Christian church by comparing them with the word of God. It’s evident that Calvin loved the teachings of Augustine and Chrysostom especially because of their high view of God and His word over the pride of man. I insist you read Luther and Calvin to actually see their arguments against the later doctrines of Rome, like purgatory, and their view of works-salvation, indulgences etc.

God saved me 20 years ago, not in any church building but in a hostel. He delivered me from heroin and methadone addiction in an instant (no withdrawal) but more importantly saved me from the eternal punishment my many sins deserved. I have attended two fellowships in that time. Both were immense blessings and both eventually became dangerous. The first fellowship became (strange) fire damaged from Todd Bentley's transferable anointing - which travelled over to the UK via a local pastor and the laying on of hands. This fellowship became infected with other spirits but as long as 'something' happened, it was all good. I got out just in time but not without confusion and a faded desire to evangelise. The second fellowship helped to set me free from confusion by patiently ministering the correct handling of God's word. It took two years before I could clearly read and understand Scripture again. This particular fellowship focused 100% on sound teaching but with little room or time for any of the gifts of the Spirit (though they weren't cessationists) and so very little ministry outside of teaching and prayer ever happened. I discerned a fear of losing control amongst many of my brothers and sisters. There was also a genuine terror of sharing the Gospel out in the world. I left there last year after they obeyed the government over God and continued to do so. I would love to find a fellowship that both practices the gifts, loves evangelism AND measures everything against Scripture, not being afraid to test absolutely everything. I'm not looking for unity in the minors because that just isn't possible this side of eternity. I am, however, cautious because I have seen the damage that can happen when leaderships don't enquire of the Lord at every step. I am wary of 'church' and weary from it but unless I meet together with others I shall eventually fall - please pray for me. Above all, I want to rediscover the joy of evangelism in a fellowship that might encourage me as I seek to encourage them in Christ.

I am feeling compelled to share with my Protestant brothers and sisters what real Catholics actually believe: We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only son our Lord. Conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, he suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day, he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there, he will come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. I think this leads to Francis’ unity theme... the tenants of our faith are more similar than different! Love and peace in Christ Jesus ✝️💜

Well said, sister in Christ. The basics of the Christian faith are universal, including the New Testament and the Creeds. Keep fighting for unity for it is the will of Jesus: "As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that ALL OF THEM BE ONE, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us SO THE WORLD MAY BELIEVE that you sent me." (John 18-21) May you be continually enlightened by the light of Christ and filled with the Spirit to do his perfect will all your days, and may this grace extend to your loves and those to whom he sends you.

It's sad that often you meet people who are not belivers that are living lives that look so much more like Jesus and those that call themselves believers look nothing like the transformed person becoming more like Jesus that new birth in Christ should bring. As Jordan Peterson said...it really would put you off, the fact that you don't see many Christians living the sort of transformed life that Jesus asks and looks like.

The irony for myself that the entire reason behind me following Francis Chan's teachings is because I was done with the division within churches and among Christians but still desired to grow and seek biblical understanding and truths. I had a very tough time getting past a period in my very early youth where my parents fell into a cultish type of teaching within a church. ( Baptist at that) One that had followers so outside of the bible with the leadership that it made my life difficult in areas I shouldn't of grappled with. It all toppled after the Pastor was revealed for the crook liar and cheat he was, and cost him a leg from being shot by a betrayed husband! You might imagine it left a bad taste in my mouth for organized religion and church. I had trouble trusting teachers and leadership and always found a big problem if I sought out a church home to dwell in. I went so deeply into the world and sin I barely had any desire to try to get on a path toward his will for my life. ( still struggling) After God revealed things to me in a way I couldnt deny or run from I decided to start again like a babe in Christ to build a personal REAL relationship with Jesus. I prayed for God to let that hurt and bitterness fall away and asked if he would be merciful to guide me to someone truly of his anointing. I accepted him as my savior as a young pre-teen but the relationship was built on bad examples and experiences rather than just good people serving him ( the bad experience was brief as far as it ended at 12yrs old or so, and my parents did find truth and I had that shared with me always) Church however, I was not ready to navigate..it was not in my plans in a real way Because of my yrust issues I was not expecting much to come from a google search of sermons expecting the razzle dazzle and deception with a touch of pay me to pray for you at wrap. My 1st click was a sermon of Francis Chans and instantly I was effected by his sincerity and heart for God. The sermon was word for word meant for my ears and condirmation to my current studies I was doing on my own. Gods way of giving me peace about the teacher and his true intent.... I did briefly find a home church but you nailed it, there is no unity and I always end up feeling judged, scorned, or discouraged for trying to find my footing. Due to a new pastor being voted in after the previous passed on, the gossip, division, amd slander eventually got to me amd I quit going. Despite feeling I had also found a pastpr to get behind. I actually got repeatedly told I was making a big mistake going there and it made me dread church. Thing is he just was willing to cater to old traditional ways if he was Led to go another route. He sought to encourage the youth to love God and he made it a point to have these youth step into action as worship leaders, pray leaders, things like that while still being inclusive and truly preaching scripture. He was only guilty of having new ideas that sought out lost souls. He wanted to disciple and make disciples of the ones out here facing hard choices and different times instead of doing the same old Sunday "routine" He dared to preach and lead boldly. That was his crime.......... The point is people don't realize the hurt they can inflict on babes in Christ by chastising and downing rather than loving people where theyre at and allowing God to change the person from within. Anyway....God put Francis Chan in my path, and his love for Jesus was something I was envious of. I wanted to be so in Love with Jesus I cant wait to spend time with him everyday.. To see him as an actual manifestation of another being that I have a back and forth with rather than just the supernatural thunder in the sky. No mockery intended, I just saw the relationship between us and him in a new light and needed that. I was ready to submit to his will for my life. I find that the other things became such a discouragement and distraction, which is exactly what the devil wants. To seperate us from our creator. Division among the people, the beliefs, the ideology, and the theory sure does take away from the focus of his word and his commandments to his people. How can we fight the enemy if were to busy fighting with one another???? Don't stop seeking and growing Mr. Chan! Spend the time searching for truth, finding areas that needed replanted in your walk and teachings rather than taking time defending yourself over accusations and debating. Accountabilty is necessary, I understand that point from the criticisms... I just feel like thats not what is happening. It was a full on heretic false prophecy attack on your charachter and they're going to answer for that as well one day if they had tainted motives.... Because of your humility, and seeing you admit publicly it weighed on you enough you have had to seek truth- even if it went against your prior teachings and beliefs is INSPIRING . I can get behind and learn from a man isn't always 100 % right nd says so, or that evolves in his understanding of Gods word enough to say maybe I was off here.... Even when you had tp face criticism and have your faith questioned or are slandered you stood up for what you felt God led you to do. I think thats what I connect with in order to hear Gods word and feel confident about the teacher I place trust in. You are real... Amd very human... So annoited and spiritually gifted... ... Only one perfect human in the flesh ever was or will be. We can't be that to a point we needed a lamb to intercede for our faults. Why then do we point out what we Arrogantly see as wrong to our very brothers and sister's in him? I'm guessing because its easier than working on self... Cant we love one another, encourage, and pray for each other rather than point fingers or slander someone? I understand as a leader you are held to certain standards biblically speaking, and do need accountability partnerships on your continued walk with God. But I feel like the church and the christian brothers and sisters ( not all people or churches of course, but a great percentage) are pushing the lost or the seeking but not firmly planted folks away from the Lord, mostly because arrogance overides humilty. If there was ever a place the gospel an anoited God appointed leader should be spoken and shared at, I gonna go on and say at a prosperity or charismatic showman type movement would be to a GREAT place to start. Thousands gathered to seek truth, peace, salvation, or just came because curiosity brought them there needed to hear the true gospel message. They may of been led astray in huge ways had Mr. Chan not followed his heart. Francis Chan, you are fruitful and it shows. You're a blessing, and I am learning from you and your family always. What great examples you all are.j Thank you for fearlessly teaching his word, but still being humble enough to say that you're still learning more about his word and seeking TRUTH too. Not being to proud to realize we may interpret or niss things God reveals to us in his time. We see you out here doing something productive to win souls to the Lord. Not wasting time spinning wheels to "expose" the perceived faults of your fellow brethren........ I cant believe the irony of that entire situation! If it didn't possibly cost other people a relationship with God it might actually be a bit comical.......

Hi Becky! I also grew up in a Baptist church in Canada. For 21 years I was very heavily involved in Sunday school and leading worship almost every Sunday. Then we got a new pastor. Most of the previous pastors have had some "Respect" for the Holy Spirit. This new pastor came in, emptied the whole library of books that had to do with Hearing God's voice, waiting on God's timing, God having a will for your life.... And he replaced them with a whole lot of theological jibber jabber that most people do not even understand. I was very burdened because I have been part of a church since I was little. But the Holy Spirit warned me very clearly that I would not grow in faith, but in religion if I stayed under such leadership! So I fasted and prayed and asked the Lord for guidance. He eventually led me away from this church. I went through much persecution for leaving. My whole family stayed(my parents left for a very different reason a few years after me) Now 7 years later many of my friends and siblings with their husbands are now very alarmed at some of the theology that is being taught especially when it comes to the Holy Spirit and His role and function. I believe it's only a matter of time until many churches will sink like the Titanic, unless they repent of unbelief! 12 spies went to Spy out the promised land and only Joshua and Caleb believed they could do what God promised! Joshua and Caleb had to go through a 40 year wilderness detour until all unbelieving children of Israel died and then they were allowed to go into the promised land with the younger generation. I believe there is sooo much "religious atheism" in modern day churchianity and the Holy Spirit has been replaced with books and pastors. We all have personal access to God the Father through Jesus the Son and can hear the Remah voice of the Holy Spirit! But this calls for radical obedience and full surrender to Jesus Christ no matter what He asks of each of us. I believe the church age as we know it is over and we will slowly but surely see the remnant church go underground as the Lord prepares us for the coming persecution. We are the church! Not the building! May you and your husband come to a place of absolute neutrality(we will stay or we will go, not our wills but God's be done) and the Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth!!!! 1John 2 v 27. May the Lord lead you and give you faith to jump out of the boat even though you may not yet know the next step! This is where all our worship songs become real. Like the song Oceans by Hillsong. May God bless you and lead you where He wants you to go! In the end we all have to stand before God alone and give an account to Him ourselves. May we truly follow Him and not denominationalism or religion but the Holy Spirit who is like the wind! Be so blessed!!!!

Its very interesting conversation. If someone were to ask Jesus what religion are you..... You see...its not about a religion... Its all about Jesus! When we get to heaven there won't be a Catholic section, a Baptist section, etc. It will be did you believe on Jesus! I've seen all kinds of craziness in different churches....#1 Do they preach Jesus, do they believe He is the way, do they believe in the Virgin birth, the trinity, the resurrection, etc. These are all basics for a true Christians. And, we are to love one another, care for one another, well with those who weep, mourn with those who mourn, be a light into a world of darkness. God Bless you all.

I loved this. So true that we need unity in the church, now more than ever before. I am no Bible scholar, far from it, i go to an evangelical anglican church in UK. But since start of lockdown last year I have been drawn towards the old ways, liturgies and prayers from Celtic Christianity and the early christian saints.... The verse that kept coming to mind was "look for the old paths, and walk in them". (Can't remember where it is). The thing that is most apparent from that time is the focus on Christ, the Trinity and the Love of God for all, and that God is in all and through all of creation. In the Celtic church women were just as important as men, leaders of communities, and even ordained as a Bishop. Sadly the Synod of Whitby in 664 decided that the Roman Church (arguably politicised by the Roman Empire) would be the official form of Christianity in Britain, so the Celtic christian Liturgies and wisdom were pushed to the North and Western fringes of the British isles. Almost wiped out completely by puritanism in the 18th century, it has remained as a remnant, but in these times I think we need those ancient deep roots more than ever. I know that in the liturgies and prayers there is a deep deep peace that is unexplainable but deeply beautiful.

🤦 Benny Hinn needs to be drummed out of the Church, not embraced as a brother. We should not demur on confronting Hinn in the intellectually dishonest/lazy way Chan does when he isists "I don't know the guy." Hinn is a false teacher of the prosperity false gospel. How many phony tears of repentance does Hinn have to shed before we say "You need to give up your phony ministry until your life shows fruit of repentance?"
@cole1410003 жыл бұрын
I feel like I come from the other side of the journey in comparison to Francis Chan. My family grew up strong supporters of people like Benny Hinn and all the charismatic teachers. My grandmother has faithfully given to their ministries. I’d just have to ask Francis, would he embrace and encourage his own wife & kids listening to the teaching of Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, Joel Osteen, etc? At what point is calling a spade a spade a priority with the New Testament church as much as attaining unity? I think leaders like Francis take it for granted that they don’t have to sit under heretical teaching on a weekly basis with their families and see it’s ugly fruits. In so many cases, there is no unity unless someone changes their mind. I can share some intimate moments with someone like Todd White but I would be foolish to sit under his teaching with my family. He spoke about Ephesians and the attaining of unity but what about Jesus approach to the yeast of the pharisees or the apostles in 2 Corin, especially Galatians where a teacher of a false gospel is to be pronounced accursed, 2 Timothy, 2 Peter, 3 John & again Jesus rebuking his own church for putting up with false teaching in Revelation? He didn’t approve of them acting in a spirit of unity while not calling out blatantly false teachings. It’s not as simple as simply turning a blind eye to embrace a brother. I would love to see Francis keep his heart for unity and to balance it with a healthy regard for doctrinal purity. “Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things, for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.” 1 Timothy 4:16 It just seems to be a cop out to say he doesn’t know someone well... when what they’ve taught is clearly harming the church - even he himself is admitting it. I’m not saying he can’t fellowship with anyone but that to do so indifferently is simply unwise. John told the church to not even receive someone into their house who teaches a faith contrary to the one handed down to them-why? Because he hates people. No. Because he’s concerned for those in the flock who don’t know better. Likewise these leaders can’t be held to the same standards as everyday christians. Theyve taken upon themselves a mantle that requires them to have doctrinal fidelity to the scriptures and the qualifications of 1 Timothy 2. I’m happy to hear the things Benny Hinn is saying, but that doesn’t change the fact that 90% of his career as a minister has been as a manipulative heretic, who has used the ministry for great personal gain. All I’m asking is can we atleast make a stand that although we encourage his repentance-we not only can’t recommend him as a minister, we condemn his teaching. I agree with Benny Hinn, I don’t think God wants him to teach any longer. He should be allowed to be a member, not an elder. He’s proven himself unfaithful in shepherding the flock, handling the word and unqualified to teach - repeatedly.

Butttt the true faith of catholic loves Jesus as our Lord and Savior and believes the Bible is the word of God and there are some things that are different but that’s just a different way of worship but it does not mean they aren’t following the truth.

In order to achieve Church Unity we must: 1. Agree that HIS Truth is the ultimate thing we need to have Faith in. We have to stop saying “well I believe this or that”... what does he command us to believe in? 2. We need an authority to protect and defend His Truth that we are all willing to submit to just as we would submit to Jesus. 3. Jesús actually setup such and authority in His Church that started with Peter and the Disciples and then was handed down from generation to generation. We need to know our Church History for the first 400 years before there was any set Scripture. 4. We must be willing to go where that leads us because where we have been clearly isn’t working. How do we know it isn’t working: 1. There are 30,000 different denominations each with its own set and variations of “beliefs” and “traditions”. This all due to the idea of Sola Scriptura and that each of us can read and be the Authority over the interpretation of what we read. 2. It is now “in the water” that there is “no objective Truth”. The Christian church has lost that battle. In fact we have contributed to it. See #1. Also ask your kids if they think it is possible to know right from wrong. You will be shocked. 3. Because of #1 and #2 we no longer have the ability to tell anyone “we have the Truth”. In fact how often do you even here “the truth” bring something that is taught or preached about? We love love, but we don’t teach God’s Truth about love. 4. Our society thinks it is ok to riot and destroy and kill people in the name of fighting for “justice”. But see #2. If you have no idea what justice is, what are you really fighting for? They are fighting for power and control. That battle if it continues will neither get them what they think they want nor will it end without more destruction and bloodshed. All this while the church remains silent and there even those that think they are “loving their neighbor” by agreeing with the violent. Where is the Church teaching that power and control are idols and will never satisfy? Where is the church teaching that in order to be saved you must submit to your Lord day and be a servant to all? 5. The murder of babies is called “women’s healthcare”. 6. The accusation of voter fraud is considered “right wing”. 7. To be “Right wing/conservative/Christian” is now a bad thing. 8. And so many other examples of our society “losing its mind”... 9. What is our response as Christians? It should be: 1. The God of the Universe is the Author of all Truth. 2. Jesus instituted a church of Authority through Peter and the Disciples. 3. The Church has maintained unity and become a worldwide influence from these vary roots. 4. Rather than thinking what you know about the evils of the Catholic Church, actually learn for yourself. Learn the early church History, read the Catholic catechism, then go back to the New Testament and see if it all matches up. 5. Return to the Catholic Church in the name of the Truth of Jesus Christ and God our Creator.

Your POLITICAL talk in this writing means you are satanic. I don't vote because Political Parties are SATANIC. You accuse your opposition of ignorance and merely "fighting for power and control", but your political talk shows you're doing the exact thing you're accusing your opposition of. You HYPOCRITE !! Blind Guides leading the blind. Yes, IF so-called "Christians" and Church Leaders can go back to the Teachings of the APOSTLES, there would be more true-unity (in clusters) and Remnants who (for example) won't observe the LIE of a winter-birth of A Christ, just as the Early Church didn't observe such LIES. Another example of what you would find in Remnants would be the embrace of the Hijab in 1Cor 11 as the women cover themselves, and not try to be SHOWING-OFF self-beauty (satanic - Ezek 28v17 . Isaiah 14v12-15 . 1Cor 1v29).

I don’t have a background in theology. I accepted Christ as a young child and has been walking the journey ever since. I was raised in a very strict Reformed church and was made very aware of my sins continuously and how I was not worthy of God’s mercy. That lead to some serious self confidence issues - ie. denying myself to the point that I did not feel worthy of even existing. After school I jumped between churches but to be honest: Keep your eyes on Christ, follow the truth in the Bible. Be able to discern for yourself based on your knowledge of scripture what false teachings are. And most important: Love Christ and love others. I love Francis Frangipane’s teachings.

I would be really curious to hear Francis Chan talk about what he or how he would approach communion in a place where it is idolatry. I have a lot of friends here and it is clearly the general mentality that going mass, confessing sins to the priest, taking communion, and praying to Mary and the saints is all they need to do to be good with God.

@@ceciliaramos2280 Sister Cecilia, keep fighting for the faith, but fight for the whole Christian faith, not only parts of it, remembering that "Christ is all and in all." Here's the whole text of Colossians 3:1-11: "So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth, for you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever is in you that is earthly: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed (which is idolatry). On account of these the wrath of God is coming on the disobedient. These are the ways you also once followed, when you were living that life. But not you must get rid of all such things as well: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive language for your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing you have stripped the old self with its practices, and have clothed yourselves with the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge according to the image of its creator. In that renewal there is no longer Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and free, but Christ is all and in all."

Love this!! I believe If we were more concerned with our own heart condition we would be more focused on Jesus and the gospel message and let Him do the rest.

Also to say unity and how we should love one another with holy reverence, how is the love the John Mac was explaining to Francis something to be dismissed? Biblical love does include truth and justice.

Just a thought on both you two brothers in the LORD, why not get a Catholic apologist on the channel and dialogue about what you think the Catholic church is all about and see the other side of the coin, you both might be surprised...don't be afraid! many have done such and been surprised at the misconceptions. Blessings...

Totally on the same page as these guys. Now if only I could find more like minded people in my community... I definitely feel pretty "homeless" when it comes to the whole having a specific denomination/theology.

The fact that some christians are attacking Francis is shocking. I also crave this unity from my previous congregations and where I am now, Ephesians 4 is that motivation for that unity.

Well said, brother Joshua. We are to be ravenously hungry for Christ, and that means unity. ("Is Christ divided?")

I hope no reader will suppose that "mere" Christianity is here put forward as an alternative to the creeds of the existing communions-as if a man could adopt it in preference to Congregationalism or Greek Orthodoxy or anything else. It is more like a hall out of which doors open into several rooms. If I can bring anyone into that hall I shall have done what I attempted. But it is in the rooms, not in the hall, that there are fires and chairs and meals. The hall is a place to wait in, a place from which to try the various doors, not a place to live in. For that purpose the worst of the rooms (whichever that may be) is, I think, preferable. It is true that some people may find they have to wait in the hall for a considerable time, while others feel certain almost at once which door they must knock at. I do not know why there is this difference, but I am sure God keeps no one waiting unless He sees that it is good for him to wait. When you do get into your room you will find that the long wait has done you some kind of good which you would not have had otherwise. But you must regard it as waiting, not as camping. You must keep on praying for light: and, of course, even in the hall, you must begin trying to obey the rules which are common to the whole house. And above all you must be asking which door is the true one; not which pleases you best by its paint and paneling. In plain language, the question should never be: "Do I like that kind of service?" but "Are these doctrines true: Is holiness here? Does my conscience move me towards this? Is my reluctance to knock at this door due to my pride, or my mere taste, or my personal dislike of this particular doorkeeper?" When you have reached your own room, be kind to those Who have chosen different doors and to those who are still in the hall. If they are wrong they need your prayers all the more; and if they are your enemies, then you are under orders to pray for them. That is one of the rules common to the whole house. I've often said that God has room for a variety of flavors as there are a lot of personalities in the body. However one important thing is that holding to truth is important.

I am that person. We started a Bible study via zoom. We also have weekly prayer. The church has gotten so caught up in worldly functions, politics, etc. I desire a Godly worship service, but the other issue is the msg’s are so watered down it scares me because these ministers are not teaching truth and we have a generation of ppl that are lost. I respect MacArthur, but I too believe more love needs to be shown, we can give ppl the truth but they must see the love of Jesus in us. I think politics has crept in too much in the church so that’s a huge problem in the church too. But I believe all saints need to study the word to show thyself approved. We need to seek and God will be found. But I believe our heart has to be lined up with God’s word so that we can draw the unsaved and even saved that don’t know the word. Prayer has to also be very important in a believers life. We must imitate Christ and He always showed loved to the broken-hearted but he rebuked ones that only had an outer appearance but their heart was stone. I agree with a lot of what I heard you say. But there are too many rules in all these denominations and in the apostles times we were just Christians and not a denomination. Denominations came about because men couldn’t agree and the church split. Being in disagreement is not the worst thing but I don’t think God would have us disagree to a point where ppl can’t come together because as a Christian I believe in unity. I only call myself a Christian, I don’t use a denomination when I talk to others about Jesus. I follow what was set up originally, Christian. Thank you for this interview it was very informative.
