In Ghana, if you bluid a house for your parents and they don't know the source of income, they will not accept it. Most Ghanaian parents will reject monies that you can not explain its source. Sometimes, if their girl goes after rich married men, they can disown you. I must add that some tribes are very proud and will refuse suspicious men coming after their girls.

Exactly, am a Ghanaian living in the central region kasoa to be precise. There is one boy here by name alhaji w**** ( let me hide his name) but those who know him will attest to what am saying. He built a big house around here and his parents have refused to step foot in that house because they don't know the source of his sudden wealth. They live in a shanty house till this day I swear. 95% of Ghanaian parents won't accept such behavior from their kids. They might be poor but trust me they are always contempt with the little they have. Ghanaian society in general frowns upon ill gotten monies or wealth. God fearing to a greater fold.....

My classmate engaged in fraud got money and bought a car. When he sent the care home the father sacked him out of the house with the car just because he was not working and was not able to explain how he got his money. A lot of Ghanaians will not appreciate you when you have an unexplained wealth. Your own parents will reject you first. They do that simply because they believe in the law of karma, they prefer to surfer to enjoy and experience curses in future.

Yes..the main reason why ghanaian family question your acquisition is because of the family name...that is the foundation of the upbringing of a child or the extended family name...no family wants a member to bring shame ..name calling and finger pointing ..we hate humiliation..so if you don't do genuine things you will cast out...they don't want to be an accomplice or associated with anything unlawful whether it is cultural or government ..

We are still fighting the government to remove the betting tax😂... A friend won 12000ghs which is like a million naira and he has to pay about 10% tax on the amount won. He almost lost it 😂😂. And the funny part is, that tax amount is deducted at source so you have no control over it😂😂😂😂. But honestly ill gotten wealth or wealth over night is highly frowned upon in Ghana. Ghanaian parents are God fearing to a great fold.

Bruh, no one is complaining Ghanaians as being perfect people or whatever. The truth is majority of the people in Ghana frown upon ill gotten wealth. You can't scam someone off their sweat and foolishly think you wouldn't have consequences? God is a just God. Ask your Nigerian friends living in Ghana how Ghanaians see them, especially those engaged in Yahoo Yahoo. No one is perfect, but ill gotten money is a big Haram before God and is greatly frowned upon in Ghana. Take it or leave it that is Ghana for you. We are contempt with our poverty okay? Money is not everything. Judgement awaits every living soul, remember that.

Very soon, people in Ghana would have to file their annual income tax to prove the source of income. This is being done with block chain technology. The government, after building the technical infrastructure, would then go after people who can not substantiate how they acquire what they have. Especially, media personnel who get paid to destroy great people in society. The high taxes on betting in Ghana is to discourage people from becoming addicted to it.
