Honestly, if you just stopped making civ content altogether, i would still watch whatever you upload. In my opinion, just play and make content about what you care and want. If you put your heart into it, people will still watch it :) Whatever you decide, i am sure a lot of your subscribers will stand behind it.

My personal rule with avoiding burnout is, remember you have always have choices. If you feel like you're burnout playing civ6, then do something else, explore. Burnout feels so much worse if you feel like you ONLY have one choice, or no choice at all at the matter. I hope it works out for you.

I only started playing Civ a few months ago with a few friends and your videos helped me so much in my journey that after 2 months I finally was able to win a game vs some friends who had been playing civ for years. I know the feeling of burnout with games, I've been playing league on and off now for 11 years, taking breaks for a few years and coming back. I know theres memes about league but it's what kept the game both fresh and fun for me. Who knows maybe taking the break from Civ is what you need to start enjoying it / love making content again? Or not, I am certain your content will translate over well for many other games. I don't know your situation, but I was really able to because I became financially stable and I stopped focusing so much on growing my channel and instead do what I wanted to. Man I remember one of my fav channels Mythymoo had the same problem being a Smite only content creator and made the change and I still watch him to this day. If you play a game for 7 years and just now burn out, that’s not a bad result. I burned out on Civilization 5 after a one year, and then as a child, sometimes I came back for a week and gave up for a year. I can imagine how quickly chess players burn out; every acquaintance who played chess, from amateur to champion, burned out on it. This was a reason not to start getting involved in chess and to think about strategy in general.

I don't think Your job is to make civ videos. It's to entertain your audience. It's almost impossible to entertain people without enjoying what you're doing. If I were making content for just the same game three years running, I'd burn out on it hard too. I totally understand where you're coming from. I go through cycles of playing a game every day for a few weeks then I burnout and move on to a different game for the next few weeks. I hope you'll return to civ eventually but only when you're good and ready and when your enthusiasm is refreshed. As much as I love Civ and civ content, I don't want to watch it if the person creating it isn't enjoying it. You take care of yourself, Boes.
