It feels like they should have had more extra curricular options like theatre, tech, orchestra, band, that kind of stuff. It’s like if you asked a foreigner what American high-school is like, which is weird, cause isn’t most of the sims team American? Or were people complaining about sims being America-centric with the sims team being abroad?

The Sims team is very American and the game is very American with all the base game houses. Even I, a foreigner, would have thought they could do more and am aware there’s a lot more going on than cheerleading and American football.

America is also 1/3 of a continent in size. It’s impossible to capture a single universal American experience. That said…. My American high school experience was a lot more…. Sad. In general my school experiences can really be best described as a form of slow burn trauma so maybe it’s for the better they went the High School Musical route.

The GAME, I mean gameplay lacks. TS4 is the best recycle machine on the market. now i know the acne cleanser comes from glamour stuff it makes sense as to why they apply powder to their face instead of y'know an actual cleanser ?? as if they couldn't just copy the bubble animation from washing your hands to the powder animation I'll never know

i wouldve LOVED having different schools for different worlds but we saw how sims would be confused and lag during wedding stories bc there was different alters at the same lot. it wouldve been a mess

Prom conflicts with get famous. I had to disable GF for prom to work. I also bulldozed the school immediately and built a much smaller one so that my sim didn't spend so much time walking. My school is SO ugly, but it's more practical.

I expect they’ve moved all their good developers and senior managers onto sims 5 and we’re left with the ones who don’t care and will approve half baked glitchy content if it just looks pretty. The adverts look like they have the biggest budget pumped into them out of all aspects of the packs lately.

I’ve genuinely never been so sad with a pack, like it’s so shallow in my eyes like the others and I always find myself playing the sims 2-3 just for the content because the sims 4 feels like one big cash grab now it’s depressing 😗

it seems very empty i agree especially just watching your sim along with the afterschool activities and football games being basically nonexistent ... it will require a great amount of imagination if you want to play out certain storylines which seems to be common with many sims 4 packs

I haven’t played with the pack yet but I got impatient & decided to just buy the pack because I REALLY wanted to build a high school (which I’m in the process of doing to post on my channel) lol the build & buy items are what mostly sold me on this pack 🤷‍♀️ can’t wait to build some houses/bedrooms with the new items! But I am excited to play with the pack when I test out my school 😁 it looks like it’s kinda fun!

My review: EA needs to sincerely get their act together, utterly unacceptable and unprofessional and a slap in the face to all their customers and the fandom with their disgusting bugs, poor and low quality patch/pack release, and consistent lack of quality control and indepth gameplay/immersion.

I just don’t like the idea of a high school pack. Most people I know, including myself, hated high school. If I want to torture my sims, it would be easier to trap them in a pool.

This EP seems so out of place and lack luster. I feel like this should've been: A) a game pack or B) an EP combined with Parenthood & Toddlers or C) included in Get to Work. I feel like EA is releasing basic content to keep TS4 series going. When you look back on the previous Sims series, there was depth and it all seemed to mesh well together. TS4 seems all over the place and it just doesn't flow well, at all. It feels as if someone at EA woke up, said, "Let's make a high school pack" and then threw one together in two weeks. I have a hard time believing this EP was well thought out. If this was well thought out, then my God, I need them to double the amount of time they develop and think these things through! It's beyond time for EA to close this series out! They're cash grabbing like crazy. It lowkey looks like robbery. You did an awesome job with this review; thank you 💜 EA is just a huge disappointment.

Today I realized that Sims 3 was only out for 5 years before Sims 4 came out. I downloaded it with all DLC after playing the base game at a friend's house and it was absolutely overwhelming how much there was to do/see/experience. It was rich and engaging, I'd literally play for days at a time with minimal sleep if I could. Sims 4 has been going for 8 years and even though I have every DLC (except high school years) it still feels so shallow and empty. I make a sim, build a house, play for 30-60 minutes and then get bored. It feels like a lot of the content they've released it just the same actions and animations with a new face slapped on to it. They broke up Sims 3 DLC equivalents into multiple packs you have to buy for what you'd think was a similar experience, it never is. On top of that half of it is released broken. Then they have the audacity to charge full price for it. It is robbery, EA is gross.

I probably should have waited for the pack to go on sale, as full price expansion packs are a bit much, but your review still made the pack look fun enough that I decided to go ahead and get it. I can't wait to make my Sims influencers and streamers - the app interface looked more in-depth than I expected the Sims team to go for, more what I'd expect modders to come up with, so that alone makes me excited for this pack. In all honesty I love your reaction videos. It’s refreshing to see a more adult perspective. Don’t get me wrong, I love other sims creators but there’s something refreshing about the way you deliver when reviewing new packs. I am currently on the soon-to-be-mom train and really can’t afford to buy any of the new packs anymore but I have bought packs before and have been disappointed by the lack of gameplay/items given. It’s a shame as I have mainly bought packs in the past for items rather than new add on features which I could just get for free in the form of custom content. Thanks for keeping your reviews honest. The build/buy and CAS items made the purchase worth it. The bugs were pretty annoying though. In my world, everyone was made a global superstar lol. The text in Copperdale and anything related to the pack showed code instead of words, ei instead of Corndog the item was either blank or said RANDOMWORD_Numbers_WORD_symbol. That was fixed right away, but I still have a lot of famous people.

people saying the build/buy make it worth it need to wake up and realise that this is a LIFE SIMULATION GAME. read that again bozzo's. if you like build/buy stuff then why are you playing this game ?? it's people like you that are the reason EA won't let this game rest. some of us actually want to play the game with the sims, you know those little people that the whole game is based around ?? i'm honestly sick of that opinion because that's not what the game is supposed to be about. go play city skylines and leave the game for the people who actually want to play it...

I think that's just what this game is. It's a dollhouse simulator rather than a life simulator. You dress them up, create a cute little house, and then try as hard as you can to entertain yourself in-game. Still surprised at the "build/buy make it worth it" comments though, I don't understand how clothing and furniture can justify the $40 price tag on an EXPANSION PACK with so little gameplay.

It's a shame how common it is for game studios to release buggy games. It's worse that some of the devs on Twitter like to take digs at players who install them complaining about the game being buggy but the patches clearly break vanilla games

I really enjoy the new pack but there are parts that fall flat due to the constant rabbit holes - eg after school activities and the fun fair. Worst for me is being unable to do anything while in class, there's more to do if your teen doesn't go at all. I had a game breaking bug (mod free) where the join popup stopped appearing, just going to the rabbit hole as before. I had the same issue on the scientist career on a different save, so they used the same method from GTW. However, I really enjoy the pack but definitely wait until the patches roll out, and yes, it's very expensive, wait for a sale.

yeah, I really liked this one. I liked the new cool clothing. As usual, more clothes for women than men, but we're used to that. And the prom was cool, albeit a little short. You're really required to work fast to get gold. The prom King and Queen was nice 🙂

I won't buy this until it's been out for maybe a month or so. I want to give the pack the chance to prove it doesn't have any major glitches that will break the game. Considering the update broke half of my mods, I'm going to be waiting a good long while to upload it. That being said, watching the content creators show what this pack is going to have, I'm glad it doesn't have a lot of clothes that are really to my taste. I'm 43. And these are supposed to be for high schoolers. It would be a bit boring to me if it did look like something I would have worn. Because styles have moved on quite a bit since then. That being said, I like them having some more masculine female clothes, and some more feminine mail clothes. I think it gives their gender-bending concepts a little bit more leeway. And it allows to create more masculine women. I wrote in another SIMS KZbinr that I try to make masculine women because I'm a masculine woman and the clothes just never look right. I especially like the flannel with the sports bra. If I were in better shape, it looks like something I would totally do.

The world looks so dull to me. We already have a lot of suburban America areas in game and there are hundreds of countries cultures they could have run away with to make the pack feel better. If they were stuck on making it American, they could have at least picked a state like San Francisco, New York or even Hawaii and gone with a full on theme around it.

I am very torn on this pack because I do love what is there. It’s one of my favorite packs, I have lots of teen sims and i like taking them to school, sitting in the canteen, making friends, taking the exam, after school things. I like the pier and the shaving and acne mechanics are actually fine for sims I play. I like prom and career day. I really like the vibe. But.... one sims week and you see everything school has to offer almost. I could have done without the thrift store that I don’t really play, and instead just give me a lot more in the school, unique interactions with principal and teacher, and lots of random events popping up. They just make you do the same four tasks all the time. It never makes you go to the music or art or computer classrooms but you have to work out on a treadmill most days. Seems odd to me. Where is pottery, and band and why is the school library empty at lunch! Also I love social bunny but again there’s just not enough different responses and everyone just talks about pillow fights. Feels like the base is here but they did the bare minimum they needed to on everything and this is a shame because what is there is good!

My sim had a crush on Jeb Harris, then we never saw him as a student again, and he became a young adult quite a while before my sim even finished high school o_O I also downloaded a smaller school from the gallery, as the standard school was far too big.

I am definitely late for the party, but the entire pack looks and feels to me like it's overwhelming, really a lot is happening, but at the same time it's not enough/satisfying. It looks monotonous, everything what happened we have seen before with the previous dlc's and it's just... Meh. You will play it through and properly maybe once, and then you will be done with the highschool stuff for good, with picking out maybe 2/3 activities to your sims lifes. I hate the loading screens so I wouldn't have used it much after (meaning in joining my teens in hs). But it's definitely better made than the previous stuff from EA.

As a teacher this pack is so insulting lol...sitting at a desk and listening to a teacher the entire time is NOT how class works (now there's group work, class discussions, games, etc). Not to mention there's kids goofing off, talking to their friends, trying to sneak out, coming in late high, etc. The class period mechanic could have been so much more if the developers actually stepped into a classroom and observed what was going on. ALSO where is my teacher active career???

Since EA has enforced their rules about paywalls on the CC community. I was wondering if you can do a summary list of the mods you used. I want to know your opinion on some of the mods. What do you like about them? What don't like about them? What mods to look out for or avoid? I've been playing Sims 4 since 2018. So, I'm not brand spanking new. But still figuring things out. I still feel like an outsider. Probably because I'm not a kid anymore who still plays the Sims. I'm not new to The Sims though. I've been off and on playing since the Sim City 2000 days. I played a lot during the Sims Busten out. My ex at the time bought me my first gaming console Game Cube and one my games was the Sims. I was in my late 20s then. But I was delighted to finally have one. I wasn't able to enjoy these things when I was younger. So, I'm late to get into these things. I think it's great to see more female gamers, even though many are younger than me. It's just how things go. Anyways, I hope to learn more about Sim 4 mods, since they cracked down on the paywall. I have my opinions on that. But I'm trying to keep it short and not go off the rails. The paywall was an issue for me. You shared many cool looking mods. But the paywall was a big discouragement for me. I really like the hair solan and cosmetic one. I also like to know where's a good source to find BB mods, CAS mods, career mods or game play mods. Who are the reputable CC creators? It might help them get their name out there. Idk just spit balling an idea there.

The only reason why I buy all the add ons for The Sims 4 is so that I have more clothes, build and buy objects and activities to do. But I've literally bought every single add on costing me up to well over $150 over the time of around 5 months. And I still say it's totally worth it. Of course the sims lacks in a lot of things and can be bloody disappointing especially since PC players get all the good stuff like CC and Mods. This may seem kind of rude of me and I'm so sorry to anyone who thinks I'm being offensive but I don't think PC players should be complaining about the sims since they get custom content and mods to make the game better. Us console players are stuck with whatever the game developers give us. But here is what I discovered with my gameplay: The only issue I had was that my teen sim wouldn't become a B or A student unless I didn't follow them to school which would ruin all the hard work I put into them being a star student and I didn't know when my Sim was due to graduate.

It was a great video. :) If I can give you advice, don't say much these things like: "We'll talk more about it in a few minutes", "we'll come on to that later" and "which we will touch on in a few minutes." You can lose viewers with this.

I’ve had a hard time getting my sims to get past a c! How do you get an A? My sims does their homework, studies for exams all the time, has even done the project boxes, and the bar is in excellent but doesn’t get a higher grade than a c. I even get gold for the school days what am I missing or is it just glitched?

I was excited about this pack but all honesty it get boring after the first couple of sim days. Playing with a family or rotation is a pia. I started a new game because of the bugs (didn't want to ruin my saves) Ended up up with a family with teenager/ child and a toddler. Well going to school with the teen everyday, the toddler doesn't get any skills. At least you can tell the child to work hard or make friends at school - do her homework or work on a skill, same as parents, but you can't tell a parent to teach a skill to toddler to tell toddler to work on a skill. I am also finding it hard to increase the teens grades. I guess I have been spoiled by apdeepindigo's school mod. I think like uni, I will using only basic of this send off through the rabbit hole

I am very dissapointed in the gameplay. Proms are a BIG FLOP, you don't have time to do anything and it's buggy. Love the cas build, but think this should have been a game pack. School is buggy and repetitive too
