This item is very overpriced for the complete lack of any kind of instructions...website is a joke, and the software is worse that Divoom (and that is saying a lot) I got one at a huge discount, and still feel like $55 was too much. My software keeps stating "The Device Version is Too Low Please upgrade in Time"...the software is up to date and I have no idea how to update the things buggy firmware. I also cant find any way to change the RGB led cycling on the buttons - Overall this is a pretty poorly designed product; All flash and wow, with really bad execution IMHO.

I have no idea what those software bugs are though. You should relay that back to the devs instead. You can change the LEDs within the settings. The UI is a bit tricky and I also said a few things about the manual and software in the video.

I'm having a similar issue with the "The device version is too low, please upgrade in time" message. It doesn't affect the usage of the Coloplay, but I am on the latest version and have no idea how to remove this message. Were you able to find a solution to this?

@@nickkchilla I gave up, I use it as a volume knob with basic mute etc for the buttons. As with most of these things, it feels designed by a schizophrenic with some very strange thoughts on what makes a good UI.

@@mikethinks That's a shame. I'm in a similar situation and have been looking for solutions. I got it on sale at Amazon from sometime ago for nearly less than half the price. It's good for adjusting the volume and muting at least, among other things. The instructions are poor and difficult to understand, but I've at least figured out how to update and change applications, and using GIFs for the center screen. It's disappointing as I wanted to love it. There is a lot of potential for this type of product, but the poor instructions and shoddy software makes it difficult to use. Thanks for replying.

A small update with a solution! I was able to get it to remove the message "The device version is too low, please upgrade in time" message by redownloading the software and reinstalling it. Right click the program and select "Run as Administrator" or enter properties and select the Compatibility tab, then select "Run this program as an administrator". Even though it is the exact same version, the message was removed after doing this. Hope that helps. I'll continue experimenting with it in the meantime.

Does the PC switch actually power off and on the PC? It doesn’t put it in sleep mode?

It's programmable. In the BIOS for your motherboard, depending on model, there is an option called something like "USB Power Delivery in Software State". You can enable this and plug the Coloplay into one of the powered USB slots on your motherboard then setup the software. Pressing and holding the PC Power Switch option on the Coloplay will power your PC on. I don't believe there is a setting to power the PC off from the Coloplay however.
