Instead of a golden hour when it's too late to do anything there should have been a golden hour after the first phone call, when a man who already had a history of stalking was repeating that behaviour. Police need to see murder as the logical outcome of stalking, when perpetrators are taught that there are no consequences. Statistics across many countries, where women are murdered by controlling ex/partners show this to be a repeating pattern.

That’s one thing I really don’t understand at all. As evil as the lunatics in these cases are, you’d think they wouldn’t want to throw their own life away in the process. I guess they are so full of hate that they act impulsively. They’re blinded by bitterness and unable to see a life without being in the relationship they miss. Lots of obsessive types out there. Such a huge difference between a healthy relationship and a controlling, suffocating type of relationship. Very sad, and in this particular case with Alice Ruggles, abysmal policing. Truly terrible. She sounded so lost and disappointed during her second phone consultation with them, where she didn’t even have a specific officer on her case and it all seemed to be treated so casually. They should’ve given her adequate protection from the guy who was clearly obsessive and a threat.

The whole reason Alice broke up with him was he was cheating on her on Tinder! This pos cheats on Alice, gets caught, harasses the hell out of her (they barely touched on the stalker behaviors and the freaky messages), she begs police multiple times to help, not only do they not help, but they literally tell Harry she’s reported him which threatens some kind of security clearance he had, so they threw petrol on an already out of control fire and then they abandoned her. So because of his own actions, Harry decides to try and get Alice back one more time and with mere minutes to spare he slits her throat and escapes right before the flatmate returns home. This case is sickening in so many ways and no matter how proud they are for solving the case that literally had a blood trail from victim to perp, Alice is dead due to their inaction in the first place.

I do not understand the British law enforcement rules at all!! They arrested her boyfriend, left him in the same clothes and shoes 👞 which are evidence in and of themselves. Then they put plastic bags on his hands at one police station only to take him to another station without the bags on before they finally got around to swabbing them and cutting his nails 😵💫! I didn’t even see them take photos of the scratch on his face, neck and perhaps his ear 👂!Then….most importantly, they only have 24 hours to investigate the evidence and charge him?! Wtf is that? 24 hours is not enough time to investigate a stolen piece of candy! If they couldn’t charge him, they would have had to let a murderer go! Why are the laws so crazy 😜 there? In the US he would rot in a jail cell until they built up a case against him. After that, he’d rot until trial without bail.
@ForceFreeTrainergirl0619 күн бұрын
24 hours is in accordance with PACE to prevent the police from holding someone indefinitely when they may be innocent. It is not uncommon for the police to arrest someone and they be found to be innocent of the crime. In all cases if the police have enough evidence, they can get a 12 hour extension from the Magistrates. I do agree though that they should routinely have that 36 hours anyway, given that forensic results can take 48 hours, and then be able to apply for an extension of 12 hours.

Psychopaths have good careers and look intelligent and smart, not always what the media portrays in Films. Ted Bundy is a perfect example.
