Whilst it might be difficult for many families to get time off, we managed to do 3 weeks in Orlando. This does have benefits due to following: the bulk of your holiday cost is Flights and park tickets. Neither of which will increase with holiday duration. You simply start one 2 week park ticket such as universal on first day of arrival and then go to your first Disney park a week into your holiday to start your Disney 14 day ticket package. This will carry you thru to the end of the holiday and have access to parks for the full 3 weeks with the ability to access both park chains in your 2nd week. Accommodation cost difference for 2 vs 3 weeks can be surprisingly low with certain hotels & apartments. I found package holidays where the difference was less then a hundred pounds. With this you now have more than enough time to visit all parks and you get opportunity to throw in a good few rest days which I think can make the difference between a good relaxing holiday and a stressful one. Worth considering if you only plan to do Florida as a once in a lifetime. I personally found that in our case as 2 kids / 2 adults. Going for a villa / appt complex worked well , spending a long holiday in a single hotel room might prove demanding as you don’t get anytime away from each other. Even some of the 2 bed appts offer 2 bathrooms and large living space with full kitchens. They can be huge and generally have hotel like facilities.

With the Universal Premier annual pass it includes early park entry, access to all fast pass rides after 4pm… and free valet parking, which cuts out some of the security queues. Great value! I used to buy the 2 week pass and a one night stay at the Hard Rock Hotel - the cheapest way for a family of 4 to get 2 days fast passes and early park entry!

@Chrissyhappy2 жыл бұрын
Hi. I’d have liked that too. I winged it! I’ve done I drive on my own with my two kids (one in a wheelchair). I didn’t want to drive there. I used lynx buses from I drive to Disney. Two buses. Easy, but takes over an hour. Universal, I jumped a mears cab for about $12 or we walked depending on which part of I drive we stayed at. Seaworld is one lynx bus or the I trolley. Very easy and about 20 minutes. A lot of the trips to Busch gardens etc have a coach pick up from the hotels. I did it four times alone. It’s easy enough. Some hotels even have shuttles to the parks but they can be a nightmare. Packed and loads of stops. Good luck to you.

That’s a good idea. I had planned an I-trolley video but might expand it to cover other transportation needs.

One thing to note about park-hopping in WDW right now is that you have to check into the park you reserved before you can hop. So say you book a dinner reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table on the Monday of your trip, but then you try to book your park reservation and Magic Kingdom is full up for Monday. No problem, thinks you, I'll just book Animal Kingdom and go to Magic Kingdom after two. But Monday comes, and you're jet-lagged, and you sleep in, and Animal Kingdom is so far away, so you just decide to chill and go to MK at two or three, to ride a few rides before your dinner reservations. But if you haven't scanned into Animal Kingdom that day, your park hopping won't work. It seems like a ridiculously specific scenario, but it has happened. Best to make your back-up park Epcot so at least you can quickly monorail over, scan in, and monorail back.

Every good behaviour kid should have 1-2 bags of Disney Parks souvenirs: plush toys, toys, mini figures, bubble blower, Mickey ears, t-shirts, jacket, drinking bottle, and some pins or magnets and etc. Please buy only those Disney Parks souvenirs, what the kids very want!!!! I know many Disney souvenirs are very expensive, but when the kids are very good all the times, then sometimes they deserve these things!!! Can I ask about tipping. What things do you tip for and how much is acceptable?
@katszulga18882 жыл бұрын
Hi Jo, North American here. One of the reasons our prices look so cheap is because a lot of companies barely pay their employees, expecting that the income will be made up in tips. 15% is acceptable, but outdated, as 18% has become the norm. 20-25% if you feel they treated you exceptionally well. Please do absolutely tip at restaurants, as in most cases your server has to tip out a portion of their sales figures for the night to hosts, bussers, kitchen staff, and bartenders. If you don't tip they are paying out of pocket for you to eat there. There is also a trend of "tipping the bill", or a 100% tip. It's not ubiquitous, but if you can afford it and your server was amazing you can really make their whole week. This tends to happen more around Christmas when patrons know that servers have Christmas gifts to buy on top of their regular bills, but is also amazing to do anytime, as American servers often don't have medical insurance, so you might just save them from a crippling medical debt. But if you are on a budget, 15% will at least keep them employed. You might also want to tip you Uber/Lyft/cab driver. Especially in Uber or Lyft where you have an account in the app, tipping will make your account show up as one that drivers will want to prioritize, which might be crucial if you're trying to get a car on time to make a dinner reservation. The last place you'll want to have some cash for tips are porters and housekeeping. This might not matter during the pandemic as a lot of these services are suspended, but if you have a porter carry your bags the usual tip is $1 per bag (minimum of $5) and for housekeeping $1 per person per night (minimum of $5/night). For housekeeping leaving the money out daily will ensure a thorough clean daily, and also means that the staff doing the work will get the tip, as staff might rotate rooms.

Disney is way too expensive, genie+ is a con compared to the old fast pass system us brits got, and the fact you have to pay extra for the best rides is disgusting! We’re going in September and not visiting Disney, doing universals/discovery cove/sea world/Busch gardens etc and the beaches, car hire is a ripoff also, but I managed to get 2 weeks for $660 bucks, experience counts for a lot when visiting Florida

Only need 4 days and found a good deal 3/2 free it says only sold in US & Canada (I’ve ticked the bit Florida residents option) and it offers international shipping, just wondered if anyone has had experience with them for tickets before?
@TheFrugalBrit2 жыл бұрын
Did you say you ticked Florida residents option? I wouldn’t do that unless you’re a resident as you’ll need proof. I bought my annual pass from uk via official universal US site. I picked the pass up from the entrance.
@magicwandsandrollercoasters742 жыл бұрын
@@TheFrugalBrit no I clicked the non Florida resident option and selected from the tickets offered.

I personally found the I trolley very good for getting around orlando. I stayed in a off site hotel I have actually stayed in the same hotel every time I visited which is 4 times its the crowne plaza universal I stay in I couldn't fault it to be honest.
@TheFrugalBrit2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I used it quite a bit on my last trip. Only annoyance was when I waited 20 minutes only to get on the wrong bus, which arrived at exactly the same time as the I-Trolley. Couldn’t get off in time. Ended up getting an Uber 😂

@@TheFrugalBrit 🤣🤣 That happened to me twice you have good advice on tickets we did Disney last time so we going doin universal and seaworld this time and we are also flying with virgin from Heathrow but have to get a flight over from 🇮🇪 first to Heathrow.

Awesome video! Just an add on to the content about Genie + if you received the 50th anniversary dining offer you cannot have the genie + discount as well, you have to select one or the other. Found this out with Virgin Holidays (whether this is a Virgin only issue I don’t know) but it’s something to bare in mind, even though I believe the dining offer has now expired for purchase

Thank you so much great timing.... how far in advanced can I book my families reservation for each park we're staying of site??? Do we need to make reservation for water parks do you know much appreciated xx
@TheFrugalBrit2 жыл бұрын
I’m not entirely sure how far in advance you need to make the reservations unfortunately, but I do know you can make it several months in advance. I’d recommend just trying to do it asap. No need for park pass for water parks 👍👍 Thanks for watching 😁👍

Did you know if you book with Virgin Atlantic using the flight and hotel option it is normally 300/400 pounds cheaper than Virgin Holidays. Also booking around 11pm at night as prices are cheaper. Top tip I like to share after travelling to floridia every year

Also, if you book through BA, tickets plus accomodation is only slightly more expensive then just flight.

We are considering booking Disney for three of us, we have a 4 year old who will be 5 when we go. I’m seeing a lot of negative press about Disney world atm, no staff and long ques for rides etc etc. In your honest opinion would you say it is worth the eye watering prices.

It’s still incredible, but you don’t get as much for your money these days, especially if you’re travelling from UK&I.

You can do it, but you’d need to purchase whilst you’re in the US, or buy tickets online using a vpn.

If I had to do it again I would have vacation somewhere else. Book the trip paying for all of our grandchildren one daughter will be in a room with her two kids we have a room with two more kids my brother and sister-in-law are going with her two kids. This is so messed up just now found out they didn't send the right numbers to do the park Hoppers
@vickierinehart44342 жыл бұрын
Oops hit send before I meant to very confusing now they're trying to say we didn't pay for two of the four kids when in fact we did we paid $9,000 to stay in the top notch resort they have us arriving a day later than my brother and sister-in-law who are also going down with their two kids they have one of their kids booked in with us which is messed up they don't have the right numbers for the hopper parks total chaos vacation. If you need to talk to anybody plan on about 48 hours for somebody to get back with you at least that was our experience.
