What I think would be super cool to make with the Tesammans fabric is wide leg overalls. You could totally make a fantastic version!
@JenGeigleyKnits8 ай бұрын
ooooooh - that would be SO COOL. possibly above my skill level, but maybe not ... you never know. I'll take a look around at patterns ... thanks!

I've made a bolero type jacket out of thicker 'tapestry' type fabric. The thicker fabrics don't need any extra structural fabric. Its warm and most fun of all is that the fabric has a very neat pattern..B&W Cats

Oooooh - how fun - yes!! Someone else mentioned the Closet Core Sienna Maker jacket so I'm checking that out ... I love b&w cats (and I think I have that ikea fabric in curtains!)

Glad you were able to get the IKEA fabric ! I would wash one first and see how drape it becomes , that way you’ll have a better idea if the skirt would work with the type of fabric. Bags is also a great idea. Happy Mother’s Day!

thanks so much! I definitely need to prewash and see how it feels. someone shared a jacket pattern that might be fun to try ... or bags for sure.

Happy Mothers' Day weekend, Jen! I am so glad you have the fabric from IKEA. Too bad they don't sell it by the yard like in the old days. Your living room is totally an IKEA show room, especially with your new colourful accessories! They should be paying you! I loved seeing Dinah hiding under the couch and BMO telling you his need to get outside. So cute! Your Incredible blanket cast on was very helpful. I'm about to cast on 181 stitches for an Aran style blanket, so thank you for the reminder on the long tail cast on trick! Your Crowberry sweater is amazing! The difference in dye lots is completely invisible.

You too - thanks so much for taking a look at the store where you were, too! I miss the fabric by the yard too - those were the days! Thanks so much for your kind words (my silly pets, the Crowberry, the IKEA styling) - you are too sweet. Happy knitting!

I found some IKEA fabric (from 2014ish?) for $1 at my thrift store and I am making the Closet Core Sienna Maker jacket from it. Huge colourful leaves all over it. It is working out nicely. Love the pops of colour in your house!

Love the new additions to your room! So disappointed that all the Bay Area IKEA stores sold out of Tesammans. I would drive for those mugs😂

Thanks so much! So sorry things are sold out where you are! They had just had a restock of several things the week I got to the Kansas City store (and things were still mostly sold out.) I wish more things were available for shipping ... that multicolored cart is so cool too.

Guess I’m a little old fashioned because I’d make a valence across the top of your windows. Adds a finish to the room and takes away that empty feeling to a room. I’d wash the material first. I love your crowberry sweater and your blanket plan.

Jen! Love your makeover with the Ikea fabric, very fresh and fun, very you :) The mobile, so great. Your crowberry is beautiful. the Purl Soho blanket, so inspiring. I've never done a blanket before. Happy mother's day, hope the prom was a blast. You are so impressive, the way you manage your work, family, volunteer time and still carve out time and space to be creative. Wow. See you next time, keep it up!

Fantastic video! I'd be tempted to use the fabric for an adventure-type vest, like the canvas ones with a million pockets that fishermen or safari types wear. That would be cute styled over a t-shirt for summer. It would also make a gorgeous and festive Christmas tree skirt.

Oh the Ikea makeover is so joyful! The pillows look great in your house. Your Crowberry sweater is oh so good. It makes me want to drop everything and order the same yarns, same colors, and copy it! (I'll wait and behave for a bit, but there may be a copycat sweater in Oregon in the future...don't think we'll run into eachother). The colors look perfect on you. Thanks for another inspiring episode.

Hi Jen, Take a look at the Liidokki Kirjo print dress (Marimekko 1973 or 4) long version. This was a fairly heavy cotton and I think the style would work with a little stripe planning. If they have the fabric when I get to Vancouver I am going to do one. Good luck with the blanket. Looks like so much fun. Since I will be in a few airports on Mother’s Day, I may just hit the button on the mini’s as Purl Soho has a sale on! OOps!
