This game was my first final fantasy and for this reason I wasn't sure if this game was one of the better ones of the series and I wasn't sure if I wanted to get deeper into final fantasy. Then I saw your video and just like the DMC video I greatly enjoyed your review and it convinced me to get into final fantasy. Thank you.

The combat director worked on DMC 4 and 5. All the icon/summon battles felt like something out of asura's wrath(pretty good). Kind of wish there were some optional dungeons too tackle or Clive could unlock new weapons that have unique movesets(like a dragoon lance, giant hammer, etc). Great video.

By far my game of the year and favorite Final Fantasy game, my second favorite is probably Final Fantasy 14, the MMO, Both games are actually made by the exact same team and music producer specifically so I highly recommend checking out the FF14 ost since it's really good with a ton of boss themes that give the same vibes as the Titan fight in 16, the Titan and Shiva themes are especially good I also really recommend playing Final Fantasy 14, it has a simply amazing story and a trial version that lets you play through the entire base story and it's award winning Heavensward expansion and Stormblood the following expansion for absolutely free P.S. my apologies for shilling 14, I couldn't help myself because I love the game

I knew what I was getting into but maybe stating spoilers are present would be beneficial. I have some call backs to my childhood from this game but I feel the depth of character is lacking from the cast. The voice actors did great, but I found myself lacking any kind of emotional investment in anyone. Cid was prolly the best and his death was disappointing. Idk. I'm not completely finished yet. About midway but we will see.

apologies about the spoilers, definitely something to note for the future. I really agree with your take though, many of the characters lack especially when it comes to emotional scenes. Enjoy the rest :)

I've never played 9 but it is the favorite of a good friend of mine, a Final Fantasy game that's been on my list for a long time is 13 and it's two sequels

4, 6 and 1 are the best for me. 14 is great if you like MMORPGS.

Great video as always!! You're definitely not the only person who thinks that way about Ultima, in comparison to the majority of FF antagonist he is honestly one of the most underwhelming ones - the secondary antagonists should never outshine the main one nd that was definitely the case with FF16
