Hi Javin, I'm sorry hear the dark spell that the team is going through. I really enjoy the SGLRH episodes, they are really entertaining and informative. I chipped in during the previous fundraiser but not this one yet as I'm cash strapped rn. I will definitely chip in for this fundraiser after my salary payout. I think you might get a better response if you get co-host to make the appeal...think she will be able to make a convincing pitch. Both of you have done an amazing job but realistically she would be able to attract more people to donate.

Joyce does appear in the original Kickstarter campaign video, which is still up on the new Indiegogo page, but as this issue involves the business and livelihood of En Garde Post itself which she is not privy to, I feel that this is something I must address myself.

Thank you for being so upfront with your situation, times are indeed tough. Trying to make money from KZbin is brutal, it's ultra competitive and very hard to make it work, and takes quite a bit of luck being at the mercy of the algo. Nevertheless your SLRH series is informative and appreciated, and it will be remembered by the community.

With regards to the playing the so-called KZbin algo game, we don't really take too much effort to please the algo, we just produce what we like. We have never considered, nor will we consider KZbin to be our full-time business anyway. But it's just so happens that KZbin revenue, as well as the Indiegogo campaign, is what is barely sustaining at a time when the media industry is at a standstill, which is affecting what we really want to do, which is to be a post-production powerhouse for filmmakers.

@@engardepostsg Just curious, is SG's media industry for filmmaking still heavily dependent on gahmen funding? I don't envy anyone who is at the mercy of gahmen orgs to make anything cultural, and this has been a problem for 25 years (Raintree couldn't even stay alive). A tip that you might find useful: KZbin algo is recently favouring videos with a lot of narration and speech-to-text content that feeds their AI.

Yea I think it's still pretty much the case, its either IMDA give grants for feature films, or if you're doing TV, it's still Mediacorp doing the funding. Because of the current economic situation, Mediacorp is trying to do everything in-house to cut cost, so there's less room for external production houses to bid for projects. And as for corporate and commercial jobs, everyone is cash tight and cutting cost, so it's even worse on that front, so you can see why we're struggling now even though I strongly believe we have a pretty good track record and portfolio.
