Jimmy Russels This guy doesn't know shit about Japan. He did not say one thing about Japan in the whole 45 minutes. About working in Japan though, it really isn't THAT bad. Just don't go there thinking that you're going to some sort of Otaku haven and that the Japanese are perfect and capable of no wrong. The Japanese are actually incredibly passive aggressive and vengeful as co-workers. You will have no problem, as long as you realize that when you're told to come at 8am, it means to come at 7am and to understand that sickness is not real, fuck you, come to work, 38 degrees is easy mode. Mess any of these two and you'll feel the payback through the shifts you get, your work load or just straight up getting fired. As long as you can do that, you can survive in the Japanese workforce.

2070 Paradigm Shift was a masterpiece, and so was that presentation Sam did at the art college. THIS, however, is his magnum opus. Incredible.

LeetDragoon It's a fundamental paradigm shift. We're past fantasizing about oily steroided men and replaced it with cartoon horses, and I think we're less gay for it.

I hope you folks appreciate that he is wearing his kimono shirt. He talked about it in another video, where he explained what kimono meant for the japanese. 'Kimono', Sam explained, means 'clothes', and clothes were very important to the japanese.

What, like 2050? The way I saw it is it couldn't have come sooner. Similar satire was being passed around 4chan in the late 2000s.

The entire point of this lecture was to establish Japan would not be where it was today without American influence. It hardly is the pure vision of itself many would like for it to be. Essentially, the issue with Japan is it is edging into Western individualism without abandoning old tradition of the collective whole. This leads to isolation in those who find themselves breaking free of the Japanese hivemind, which is why many young men in Japan become isolated Otaku to find escapism. I feel like Sam's valid point is somewhat diluted by his attempt to "rock the boat" but bullshit aside he has valid ideas.
