For anyone reading this planning to go to the "red gate temple" (Fushimi Inari) and doesn't fancy a three hour climb: IT TAKES 30 MINUTES, NOT THREE HOURS! If you are in a group of 15 and are all retired and are all stopping to photograph each gate, it may well take 3 hours. There are even signs along the way that say things like "1 hour to the top" - these are here for the lowest common denominator tourists. If you're under 40 and are in a small group, it'll take you 45 mins max. You can even go through a small graveyard a the top (there's like a viewing area "top" and then some stairs to the "top top" that lead to a graveyard so everyone turns back) and once you exit the back of the graveyard you'll get one of the best, unspoiled views of the city. Used to love there; went all the time.

I went to the Ghibli studios with my family 7 years ago, and it was honestly one of the best days of my life. I love all the ghibli films and it's awesome that each frame was drawn in such detail by hand. To anyone planning to go to Japan. I 100% recommend using google maps to get around on trains It will tell you the platform to get to, the best car for your exit and/or transfer, and how many stops. However, it’s a bit confusing to try and use it to get somewhere while walking.

The way the metro works in japan is that you have main lines with main stops with smaller stops in-between. You take a train to one of the main stops and then get a train that goes to one of the smaller stops in that section.

Tokyo railway stations and metrostations have guides that speak English. Also, you can buy a JR(public transport) subscription as a tourist before you get there, usually saving you money and A LOT of convenience.

I've always wanted to go to japan, and essentially never been outside the USA because... reasons? anyhoo, this was a great inside look on 'potential future planning stuff' considering it is definitely on my "ok so, one day, right?" book. Then again, meeting robin williams and one day thanking Ed Asner for that one time he complimented a joke that I made was on there, too, but eh. I'm not going into that more, cuz really... It just made me sad. But sad tangents aside, great video! Hopefully this will help my one day plan go easier, lol. Edit: Kinda sad that the Sega Arcade building isn't there anymore. I kinda wanted to go there, actually.

Honestly, if I were to choose any country to visit, I would probably wanna visit Japan. I just wanna learn about the culture, and I DEFINITELY wanna learn Japanese before I do, so I can communicate well. And be respectful, of course. Especially the BLOODY STUDIO GHIBLI MUSEUM, CAUSE I LOVE STUDIO GHIBLI.
