I invested in the Pico Genie Impact 2 Plus and it is fab! I usually work on 24x30 inch canvases so this little gem of a projector is a massive help. I do all image editing on the computer first so I'm left with the desired picture, which means less fiddling with the projector! I place the Pico on a tripod and the canvas on my easel, then straighten with a spirit-level. Works a treat! Don't know how I managed without it tbh.

I got a very similar looking projector, made by Kodak. Mine has a micro SD slot, which makes everything very easy. I've found it invaluable for saving time with a drawing. Especially good for portraits, which are a pain for me, time wise.

@@beachlife2968 Yes, easily. The size of the image is governed by how close you put the canvas to the projector. I've projected images on a canvas that was only 15 cm square with no trouble.

If you have an easel, do you mind showing us how you project an image on the canvas on the easel. This looks easy enough but I dont understand how to make the picture match the proportions of the canvas. Hope that makes sense. Also thanks for sharing!

Hello! I have an easel and a canvas I’ve been meaning to show but not got round to starting it yet so this is an incentive to try it out and hopefully give some good tips. I will use the projector on a tripod and set my easel straight with a spirit level, the rest will have to wait until I’ve tried it 😅

@@mufitoart Oh wow lucky me! I think it will also be very helpful to many artists because I am struggling to find any video that explains how to match the proportion of the image to the canvas size. Like for example if the canvas is a square and the image is a rectangle. I've subscribed so I won't miss it thanks a lot!

Gracias por tu comentario. Es cierto que no todos pueden dibujar como Michelangelo, Goya o Rembrandt, pero eso no quita el hecho de que aún seas un artista muy hábil con el lápiz. Cada uno tiene su propio estilo y contribución al mundo del arte.

Great video, just wondering if you have any ideas of projectors that show grids, values, black and white, maybe handset. The autograph ones went while back they seemed to have most qualities, told aught to go for something with lots lumens etc... looking for one that you think has it all budget less than 500 dollars. Has to be with features such as values etc.. that help when painting. thanks lots

Hello! The only one I came across that had grids was the artograph but they don’t produce them anymore I think after covid the company just ceased. As for blacks/whites values I would adjust the image on photoshop or an app and then project it. You really can’t have it all at a budget price and from my research this pico genie was the best I found at an affordable price. I haven’t tried many others but I’m really happy with this one 😊😊

Hello from Florida. my wife purchase the Pico Genie 2.0 and has had wonderful results from her sketches. But now for some reason the proportions are off. She casts from me Mac to the Pico Genie and the image is bigger on paper than the screen. Do you have and advice on how to fix this? James

@@mufitoart Hi Madeleine, thank you for getting back to me, I have checked online and on Amazon and some of their products are professional grade and very expensive but I did find a boom they make which attaches to a regular existing tripod. Which is the model that you are using?

I just bought the Pico Genie Impact 4.0 plus and it doesn't detect my USB, HDMI nor microSD card!! I've been trying to make it work for 4 hours now! Fuming. The only thing working is the mirror image from my ipad / iphone and KZbin and Netflix which I am not bothered about. Can you PLEASE tell me how to fix my USB etc detection issues. Desperate for this to work.

Me too. Would be handy but you don't need it. I have the Pico Genie on a (camera) tripod and easel for the canvas with spirit-level to align them. Works a treat!

Hello I purchased this projector and got everything set up (WiFi, BT), but after the keystone completed, I clicked OK then home, but my image dosn't project, it is displayed on my phone but can't seam to get image through the projector. Can you help?

Have you downloaded the app Eshare? That's how I get my image projected if I use my onions wirelessly if n out you can also connect the phone with a cable. I hope this helps. If not the customer service at personal projector are amazing !!

I just bought one and sent it back. It didn't have an SD card slot, which is badly needed for photos taken from a camera.

It has a USB socket, transfer images to memory stick and display from there. Alternatively you can store the images directly on the internal memory from the memory stick (Format the stick to NTFS format - max size 32GB)

EDIT - I ordered the #3 Genie version and can NOT recommend. It has bad “screen door effect”. The resolution is only 420 which is pathetic. I says 1080 compatible on the website but that is not the resolution it displays. Display is highly pixelated -- Are you still happy with the Pico? Since you posted over one year ago. There are NO other reviews on this for some reason that I can find.

Lol I don’t think I said it was a bargain, but it’s a competitive price compared to others. Unless you want to get one cheap on Amazon or eBay that won’t last that long or be as good. I did my research and I bought the pico genie for myself and it’s been a great investment. I didn’t get it for free to review it unfortunately 😅.
