Loved hearing the excitement in your voice. I know that feeling of being blown away by the riding in Europe. You will have a great adventure, just remember to not go crazy at the start. Glad to see you left the big drop for another day.

Thanks Lance! It definitely was a very exciting day! I appreciate the advice, theres a lot of big features here and I obviously don't want to risk having any time off the bike due to injury. Im gonna make the most of this place but it'll be a slow progression over a few months. Will be worth it!

I can't believe you are laughing going around these insane bends on your first ride. I was exhausted just watching you, especially when you raced along these sheer drop-offs and without body protection. Wow 🚴🚴🚴

It was definitely a pretty exciting first ride! And a big wake up call for the extra protection I need, very different from the soft Rotorua trails. I got myself some knee pads and always ride with the full face helmet now!

Bro its insane. I've already had to help some other riders and riding buddies fix flats. Just a matter of time before the ol' dissector gets well and truly dissected.

Great first taste of what's to come! What an amazing place, so different from Rotorua! And those rocks everywhere 😳, I can see why everyone's padded up! Looking forward to part 2. I didn't realise that you would be working in a bike shop, very cool, how did you organise that? Stay safe out there 👍

Much appreciated! Part 2 will be out very soon! A family connection led me to this job. However visa application was a nightmare, almost didn't make it so Im very glad it all worked out in the end!

Sick dude grab a full face n some pads and go for it, takes a while for the hands to get use to those longer runs than in nz did for us in Whistler anyway
@BlueSkyBoys

Very good advice, Im now using the full face 90% of the time and finally got myself some knee pads. Feels much more confidence inspiring through the rough stuff! My hands have never been so locked up after the long descents, its insane!

@@BlueSkyBoys nice one, yeah it does get better over time but we found the more flowy the tracks the worse the braking bumps were almost worst than riding the more technical tracks. You’ve got plenty of time over there just work your way up to the bigger features we wore a lot of pads didn’t need them fortunately but the amount of people walking around with skined forearms and legs from the rocks was crazy
