I seem to remember him getting the Israeli Prime Minister and the president of Egypt to the same table. I haven’t seen that since. Thank you so much for this video. It brought back fond memories of my days as a Carter Center volunteer while in graduate school in the early 1990s. I was privileged to see the office of President and Mrs. Carter on a tour led by Emily "Aunt Sissy" Dolvin, who ran the volunteer program. During the tour, Mrs. Carter walked into her office, and said to our small group, "Let me show our apartment." Aunt Sissy whispered in my ear, "Eric! This NEVER happens!" Afterwards, I lingered in the hallway and admired Mrs. Carter seated at her desk. There was nothing left to say, but that image of one of our country's greatest first ladies spoke volumes. The Carter Center was like a second home to me back then, and a weekly refuge (every Wednesday) from the demands of my studies. Although I last visited in 1999, this video brought it all back to me so vividly and warmheartedly.

I served with the 82nd Airborne during Jimmy Carter's term and, while we trained always, we were called up during what is called the Five Days of May 1978 to intervene in the former Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo) to rescue American personnel caught in that country's civil war. Two hours from deploying, Belgium, the former colonial power, sent in the Foreign Legion and French paratroopers to instead act as liberators during the Battle of Kolwezi. President Carter, though, was not afraid to use military power when it was required such as the rescure of American hostages in Iran in 1980, even though it failed to reach its objective.

Rest in Peace Rosalyn Carter 🙏 Thank you for all you did to help people with mental health issues. For just about completely eradicating that awful worm that afflicted millions of people down to only 27 isolated cases! Wow! That's impressive.!! Also, for doing the same thing with preventable river blindness!! You both did so much for people globally. I hope to visit the Carter Center some day and also your Presidential library. That gifted embroidered cat portrait from China was an incredible gift, now displayed at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library. I can see why you wanted a replica for your center. You understand the presidential records act and how the original belongs to the people of the USA, even though it was personally gifted to you. ❤ Valued at over $150 and presidents cannot take these gifts as momentos. Praying for you President Carter 🙏 you left a legacy unlike any other president. Both you and Mrs Carter were true Christians and stewards of hood will and humanitarian efforts. God Bless you both. You won't be separated from one another for very long. God blessed us with your service to our country. Pray for us and watch over us so that we never lose our democracy.

It’s with a hint of irony. My mom had end stage dementia which was scary and quite severe. If Rosalynn Carter was fortunate is that her diagnosis of dementia was just at the remainder of her life. My experience with my mom was a mixture of anger, anxiety and helplessness. I had no idea that Rosalynn Carter was a caring mother and who was knowledgeable about mental illness. I call dementia similar to having an effect of mental illness. She was a great first Lady a long with her husband as President. I am just watching the video on you tube about the life of President Carter and his wife.

Another loser who hasn't got a clue that this is a foundation and not paid for by our tax dollars. This is a foundation and a 501(c)3 charity. A legitimate one with filed tax statements available on the website. The links are there. This is what makes Republicans look bad. They comment without telling the truth make up a storyline then the next one comes along, reads it, repeats it and it becomes gospel. All because your people are too lazy to look up things they don't understand. Too quick to pass judgment on good people yet you all cannot admit that your cult leader is an actual criminal. The Trump crime family got their Foundation shut down during his presidency. You know, the one that Trump set up to grift from? The one where he took donations to have a life size portrait of himself made and Eric stole the funds donated for children's cancer research? They committed so many crimes it would take decades to prosecute all of them. So, hang onto your walle,t and stop sending hom money.
