The work continues! Back in 1989, Rogers Centre opened as a multi-use facility. More than 30 years later, work is being done to make it a state-of-the-art ballpark for fans across Canada

The renovations look fantastic! Be sure to arrive early at go to one of the restaurants/pubs nearby since the stadium food is really expensive lol. the gates usually open around 1.5-2 hours before first pitch and you can see the opposing team do batting practice and both teams doing their fielding warmups if you arrive early

I remember being a graphic art student at George Brown College at the King St. campus I was wearing a suit and tie from a job interview I went to and found myself down at the "SkyDome" as it was being built. So, I got the idea to take a tour of the construction. I simply walked inside with my large portfolio case, found a yellow hard hat and put it on and walked around the whole place like I belonged there! What a cool experience to see the original SkyDome being built!! Now, it's being renovated. Just seems like yesterday. 😄

This is a Toronto story if there ever was one. The need for the Dome came from the "mud bowl", and the crowd chanting in the Ex Grandstand "We Want a Dome!". The Argos eventually got it, but had to share it with the Jays. Now, the Argos are back in almost exactly in the same spot those chants started from, in the elements. Selling the Dome to Rogers for pennies on the dollar was insult to injury, but I'm glad to see that the Dome got a major refresh. It's the great thing about that facility: it can look dated on the outside, but you can do anything on the inside. The day they replace it will be sad: I think of it as our own "Sydney Opera House" - it looks magnificent from the shore, and no matter the weather, you're guaranteed a game.

Who knew that at the start of last season most of the hitters would have down years? You can’t blame management for fielding a great team only to have the hitters not perform. It happens.

Sorry but how can people make such stupid comments? Did you watch at all last year? We had one of the best rotations in the league and a fantastic bullpen. The hitters collectively had down years. Let’s stop being focusing on the negatives and see the great things we did last year.

@@scottmoreau5630 how quickly you forget or did you even watch the game? Despite Berríos’ modest pitch count of 47, Schneider called upon Yusei Kikuchi, opting for the lefty-lefty matchup with Max Kepler and Alex Kirilloff due up next. That gamble catered toward analytics rather than trusting the eye test. Schneider did what the analytics team told him to do.
