An Inside Look at the MAA’s Mathematical Olympiad Summer Program
Description: This summer, 70 of the world’s best high school math students came to Carnegie Mellon for the Mathematical Association of America’s Mathematical Olympiad Summer Program. The program, directed by CMU Associate Professor of Mathematical Sciences Po-Shen Loh, gives the students the chance to meet, interact and learn advanced math. In addition, the 6-member U.S. International Mathematical Olympiad Team used the program to prepare for the 2016 IMO.

+amber borowiec There is an IMO where all participating countries send their students. You wont get to USAMO is just a training camp for team USA but you can qualify to the IMO via your country. - via YTPak(.com)

amber borowiec the senior maths olympiad (year 11 12 and 13) is completed by UK students. top 1000 do bmo 1 then a few do bmo 2. 30 or so students are chosen to go to a maths camp and then 6 are chosen to do the IMO.

If you're from England the way you get into the IMO is simple. Just smash the SMC, then smash BMO1, then smash BMO2, then smash the IMO training camps/selection tests. Easy.

@@alephnull4044 IMO training camps/selection tests isn't something that is easy for a country that ranks 20th in the IMO consistently. Sure, BMOs and SMCs are trivial, but the best of the best is beyond what normal talented geniuses or gifted people can acheive.

How many Indians are doing research in mathematics in india? They only do math to crack IIT exam or some other exam to get into field where math is not the main subject. Nobody have life long Passion for math there
