Actually baijiu is the number one spirit in the world. It sells more by volume than vodka, whisky, rum and brandy combined.

ok i see the reason why that is ,because its market is mostly in china where 1.4 billion consume it,,,but it is not recognized as well as whisky or others around the globe like they are

To qualify as a world wide international best seller, it must be just that. If it is not sold throughout the world, it doesn't really count. If an entire country with over a billion people mostly consume one thing, that means that the result will be too skewed by the circumstances to be acceptable in such statistics, it will be counted as an anomaly.
