If you didnt know the elder guardian ghost has AI and used to have a model but the model is gone and the AI tells it to look at the player and go up. The model was the same as the model in the animation for the elder guardian giving mining fatigue . It doesnt have a purpose anymore.

I'm pretty sure it does all have a purpose you can see it in third person if you start out in first person and then go out into third person while you get the mining fatigue effect.

I don't believe that was AI. The upward movement was just a consequence of having no gravity (lacks physics component) while whatever was causing it to look at the Player is unlikely to actually be an AI Goal because of how the entity is used.

I was actually around during the whole hype with the Endermite. I can tell you this, it was a year long troll. Mojang was teasing an End update, the End City update, and the entire playerbase jumped to the conclusion that this meant there'd be a Red Dragon, which had even been teased by Notch while he still worked on the game, so players had been expecting this for some time and Mojang just went with it. Posting all kinds of screenshots regarding dragon eggs and the color red on their Twitter. But not once was there a unique Dragon Egg or anything. It was just a big fat tease. However, that doesn't mean they totally held back on features players wanted. Players wanted to fly around on a Red Dragon. Well, we never got that, but we got the Elytra, which allows flight in survival mode.

In fact, once the End City update finally came out, and people knew there wasn't going to be a Red Dragon, Mojang actually straight up said they might use the Endermite as a means to respawn the Enderdragon, as they were still working on a way for players to do so. First it was an Endermite, but not only did they never get to implementing this in code, but they quickly decided that would be too hard to do ingame. As the Endermite spawn rate is VERY low. So then it was building a creeper face out of wool. Yes. This was a thing. It was only a placeholder method, but that is like some 2010 fake, definitely modded "Spawning (Blank)" KZbin videos. And THEN they made the End Crystals a craftable item for respawning the Enderdragon. So yeah. Went from year long troll. To maybe useful. To that's too hard, we're not gonna do that. To nobody can even remember this thing exists because it has an insanely low spawn rate and was never given a real purpose besides the tiniest bit of Endermen lore, and it's that they're infested with parasites.

Don't some people typically go to the end with a bunch of wool to bridge and pole with because it's cheap and easily plentiful?

Wow, lots of interesting facts, good video! Technically the Elder Guardian is a boss in Bedrock Edition due to it being added in the "Boss Update" for Pocket Edition; however, regular Guardians were also added in that update as well... Also with "Johnny" vindicators, if that vindicator is the captain of a raid, it commands all raid mobs to attack what it wants. This can make ravagers bite themselves, as the captain Johnny targets the ravager and the ravager obeys!

But in Bedrock Edition, there is an entity component literally called "minecraft:boss", and Elder Guardians don't have it; Only the Either and Ender Dragon do.

8:04 snow golems can also spawn naturally in java, however it is much rarer there. If an enderman picks up a carved pumpkin in a pillager outpost and brings it to a two block tall snow block (In snowy villages), and places on the two stacked snow blocks, a snow golem can naturally spawn. But this, is a very VERY rare occurence. I think I remember camman18 talk about this.

13:36 that was a feature at some point; I don’t know when they removed it. I have distinct memories of playing pocket addition and accidentally hitting wolves when building my house. You don’t know fear until like 20 wolves with red eyes making snarling noises are chasing you. Flash forward a several years later (now on Java addition) and I wanted to agro wolves for a project I was working on and lo and behold it didn’t work. Maybe it’s still a thing on bedrock/pocket, but I wouldn’t know.

9:08 The dropped bowl item got hit by the lightning and despawned. You have to very carefully hit a turtle if you want that bowl drop, or just stand near it to grab the item before it's damaged.

Fun fact about the Giant: In snapshot 18w50a for 1.14 the Giant received a full AI! It was presumably being considered for raids. It also received baby giant variants, and it was so fast that you could not outrun it even with speed 2. Truly a scary mob! Sadly in 19w03, the changes were reverted. If you boot up 19w02a, the last version with Giants, you can experience this yourself

1:45 actually the NPC can be spawned in bedrock edition via editing the NBT data of a spawn egg and can be used to execute commands via a gui accessed by clicking on them (?), but to my knowledge they don't have any mob ai and as such you probably wouldn't have included them anyways. I haven't interacted with them in a while though so the latter bit might be false.

NPCs technically have one AI Goal: "minecraft:behavior.look_at_player". They also have the "mob" type family but so do Armor Stands so that part's unhelpful. And yes, NPCs have a whole in-depth dialog system that works with add-ons and commands that can be customized via commands or Players in Creative Mode.

One extra curiosity about the Baby Zombie: The code to give xp when you kill them multiplies the ammount of xp that is given compared to the adult one every time it is called. It's a "bug" that is not being solved because in unmodded Minecraft, you can only call this method once, since they die right after, but it can be found in modded, even if most of them won't call this method without likking it afterwards either.

8:00 the easiest way to test it would be to hang out in a snow biome until you find a two block high snow pile then try to grow pumpkins next to it. technically placing two snow blocks and trying to get a pumpkin to grow on top of them would also prove that the mechanic exists

15:00 To be fair though, the other “boss” mobs in the game aren’t too hard to beat either, even for a casual player like me. It’s insanely easy to defeat the Ender Dragon, even excluding using beds, since now it just perches and lets you hit it. The Wither (at least in Java) is also easy to kill since you get to choose where to spawn it. Even without trapping it under the End Portal, spawning him underground in say the Nether where he is practically unable to break out makes him an easy target. Even in an open area it’s easy to kill him. Just shoot him until his health reaches half and he comes down to the ground, and melee him for the rest of the fight. Regen is hardly a problem. The Warden is practically undefeatable but this is intended; and even then, with good gear and preparation, it’s not too difficult to kill one. Just because the Elder Guardian is easy to defeat doesn’t make him any less a boss mob than the other bosses who (surprise surprise) are also really easy to kill.

Plus, the clip is of you defeating the Elder Guardian in a vacuum. Half the difficulty of killing him comes from having to break into the Water Temple, thanks to mining fatigue, water, and other guardians. If you just teleport onto him in a closed room and a stack of food, then there’s not much he can do.

Yes. They grow up into frogs, making them baby frogs. However they are also a separate mob type because they are completely different to frogs in terms of things like AI. They are closer to a fish than a frog.
