An interview about Loulou & Coco.

I regularly get messages asking if I want to do an interview, come to a studio with Loulou & Coco. This has been requested in America, Germany and other countries. I always say no because I have a serious camera fear. So nervous that I'm going to shake and say strange things or not the right things. With television you have to be careful, because they edit a video (positive or negative) with a good headline so that as many people as possible want to watch it. Also, I don't want too much attention to myself because it's a channel about Loulou, Coco and other animal friends. A studio is also not where Loulou & Coco feel safe, so that is not a good idea anyway. De Telegraaf asked me for an interview for World Animal Day. On the beach in Hellevoetsluis. I wanted to do this because it's my familiar environment and it's good to try and get out of my comfort zone. The interview was mainly about likes, success, followers, what people are willing to pay for a puppy, what I earn and whether we are recognized etc. Questions that do not matter or are interesting to me but I understand that that works well for a media channel. There were some moments in between when I was very nervous and they cut that out, I'm happy about that. Eveline, I thought you did a great job in this interview. I did not know that people actually made bids to get Loulou's puppies. If you were nervous, Eveline - it did NOT show! You did very well and it was fun to see LL & CC with strangers. They were very well-behaved but of course you can tell it was different for them than when it is just you & your family. I think they are both very protective of you, Fred and the girls. Why are your dogs such favorites? Because in our busy worlds, with most videos trying to grab our attention with noise and colors, yours are so soothing and mesmerizing. After an overwhelming busy day, it is very meditative to come home and watch Coco and LouLou quietly jumping over logs.

As a PR and media spokesperson, I have to say that you were great on camera (even knowing your fear of it). You speak as naturally as your channel and it really comes across. I think you've got a good handle on it (and shouldn't worry about looking nervous). I think what also helps is that you were laughing and joking about things as you walked along and it helps to calm your nerves when you get interviewed too. I love that they showed you holding the phone with the food in your other hand - then how LL & CC stare at the phone. It was like giving away one of your trade secrets! LOL - congrats on the great interview.

@@Loulou_Friends I was a reporter for more than 30 years, but I also did on-camera interviews at different times and I used to have mini-panic attacks right when they counted down -- "Three, two, (and then they point at you to start talking)". What helped me was to focus on making the other person comfortable. Even if I was asking difficult questions, I would try to put the other person at ease. And I tried to conduct my interviews more like a conversation than just asking a lot of questions.. I still had a shakey feeling inside whenever I was on camera -- but later, people would tell me I looked so "natural." I know that there are famous actors who actually get sick to their stomachs before going on stage, even though they've done this hundreds of times before. So in my "professional" opinion, I think you did great. I also think Loulou and Coco did great! You know, I lost my 16 year old dog in December and it's been so hard living here alone without him, so I've been thinking about adopting another dog. I love Loulou and Coco so much, I've been thinking about adopting a dachshund from a dauchshund rescue agency. From watching your vidoes, I know that a dachshund would be great for getting me outside and walking. They have so much energy! But in the meantime, I watch your videos everyday and they make me laugh and smile. Thank you!

The thing that drew me to your videos way back then ( probably about two years ago now, wow...! ) was that you let the animals be themselves and at the center of it all; no loud or cheery music plastered all over the videos and no talk bubbles for the pups which I hate with a vengeance! You just show them, very close up and let them be dogs and don't try to make them into humans, lol. I love it! Such a simple concept but quite rare for popular pet channels on KZbin. I LOVED that you said that Dogs are not toys. Here in Texas, many people treat their animals like that. If they are "inconvenient"....then they dump or abandon them. Our shelters are so full of dogs, cats and puppies/kittens, that they have to kill them if nobody wants them ! We see many animals that have been hit by cars........This is why we try to get people to "Neuter" their animals so there are not so many unwanted puppies. We also ask them to adopt an animal from the shelter, rather than buy them from the store or breeders. Many breeders sell dogs just to make money and they don't take them to the vet or care for them properly..........It is very sad !
