Personally i am saddened by the fact that witcher saga ended at such a opportunistic moment. HEAVY SPOILERS!!! Sure geralt and Yen are KIA(up until he allegedly comes back in the end of season of storms), but what happened to Ciri? The games did an amazing story for her. But i always wished to see how Sapkowskij would portray her travels. "...and everything else was in front of them." Or " and before them was everything"

@@spacecats7832 there was no open ending. The books are pretty much closed and the ending is good. Games are great (especially 2 and mostly 3) but the way they bring back geralt to life in 1 is very rough handed and just simply forced. It is a fanfic story after all :P Geralt and Yen die in the books and they have poetic end. There is no 'open ending' in witcher saga if anyone cared to really read it. Yen and Geralt die together. Ciri lives on in hopefully better world and the friends they managed to save. Games are the only fanfic continuation we are gonna get and I feel like its fine. They are not bad, even if the beggining of them kind of was, especially storywise xd

But rejecting royalty offers for a video games based on his books, thinking video games will never take off (it's like the guy never socially progressed past the 80s or something), stupidly requesting a lump sum instead *and* now thinking he suddenly deserves more money from said video games because of the aforementioned fuck up does make him look like a bit of a muppet. Always read and watch movies in order they were released. This way you will never get confused as it is the way that everyone that followed the specific media while it was released was enjoying it. Never listen to 'chronological orders'. If something was released after something it still may contain hints from previous stuff and add to it, so there is no reason to jump ahead, even if the story itself happens 'earlier' in that world. You will always get more of it while watching / reading in release order

Bardzo groźny jeżyk is that perhaps, "Season of Storms"? Or something else? Edit: I looked it up, that is Season of Storms (in English). That has released in English this past month.

I disliked The Last Wish so much that I wish he would write a new book to replace it. Make "A Grain of Truth" non-canon (because it was bad), rewrite "A Question of Price" (because it was poorly written but it was an important events in the rest of the books), and re-write "The Edge of the World" (because it was poorly written and seems like it didn't fit with the rest of the books very well).

I'm from Poland. I just want to know Ciri's history. His books are all my life. Game is amazing, but book's history is so much better. I felt so bad when the last book finished. And I was so exicted Season of Storms (I don't know how they translate Sezon Burz). But I didn't read it. It was so boring. When I once slept reading it, I said stop. Now I hope that the new book will be about Ciri.
@evilwarez
@evilwarez 6 жыл бұрын
Honestly new book can't be about Ciri. This character is complete. And he is not a "woman novel" writer. Princess got married with prince Artur. That's the end of a story. While you'd like to continue developing Ciri's story it would likely end into feminist book. And modern feminism is not what we love Ciri girl or Ciri woman for, right? She's not one dimensional characer. She's a sorceress, witcher and princess in one child. In some sense if you've loved those characters in your youth and they affected you in a way - you're a Ciri now, and it's your story to tell. Not Mr. Sapkowski.

@@evilwarez "end into feminist book"? What are you smoking m8? Did you even read the witcher, where Ciri is basically main hero and sorceresses (women) rule the world and all the kingdoms? These books always had those messages in them as well as many others, mainly about racism and simple folk being prejudiced towards others (obviously, one of the main themes of the book, where the worst monsters among all the ghuls and werewolfs are most often people themselves). There would be no need to ''end up'' anywhere. These books always had these very obvious messages, which I respect Sapkowski for, as they never felt forced, but they were still very noticeable and main forces in the books. Witcher is heavily women focused series as well, so saying Sapkowski is not a "woman novel" writer is simply a lie. I dont know if we dont spend most time with female characters in witcher saga (not counting two first books of short stories)
