WOW! What a career! From Terre Haute Glenn...Indiana State University... Coached Gregg Popovich ... Guided the Lawrenceville Indians to four Class A State championships in Illinois.... and recruited 3 out of the top five scorers for the Indiana Hoosiers Men's Basketball team!

I've had the luxury to spend time with him and another HOF Illinois coach at the same time and Ron was one of the nicest people I've ever met.

I was fortunate enough to grow up in Lawrenceville, Illinois and experience Coach for four years of high school during the 70's. I also had Coach for Driver's Ed. and Coach would read the paper in the front seat while we drove around the town and country. One of the days I was driving through town, I had just turned right at a four way stop which was right by the police station. Coach said to me "They could've just thrown that one at you, Turner. I said what's that Coach? He said, a ticket since you just ran that stop sign back there. I guess I made a California stop and rolled through the sign. I was surprised he caught it since he was reading the paper. Everyone in the car got a good laugh out of it though. I would loved to have seen Coach Felling coach a Division 1 basketball team. I have no doubt it would have been a good one under his tutilege.
