I would pay more for a ticket to see a full band(in order to cover visa costs). I don’t think small venues are charging enough for tickets and in that regard paying musicians enough (of course). You get what you pay for.

@@adampayne6674 yes, it's true. I've played some non profits, and they take 40% sometimes even more ...

Thanks for the Interview! When Rino played on my guitar, it was simply THE sound I was always looking for. Before that I thought I still have to find the right guitar for a tone like that haha

Thanks for the great discussion… but out of curiosity, why the ‘no comment’ regarding bluegrass? I’m intrigued. Please explain. Thanks.

It's more just an inside joke for my dislike of the banjo, which isn't entirely true. 😂

@ oh i get it! I’m from a family of bluegrass musicians, and in all the bands I’ve been involved with the banjo pickers are the recipients of a bit of fun at their expense. What’s the best thing about throwing a banjo into a dumpster? When it lands on an accordion. Seriously though, the bluegrass guitar masters revere Django and Hot Club players- Tony Rice, Clarence White, Scott Nygaard, Mark O’Conner, and others, you can hear the influence. I love it and have been soaking up as much as I can, learning on an ‘84 Alvarez Yairi classical, which sounds pretty darn good! Hey Willie wanted to sound like Django, right? Looking forward to a Selmer/Mac style, but as a grad student, I’m on a tight budget. Soon I’m going to sign up for your tutorials. Thanks for your expertise!

@Jahchristo same! I grew up touring around the country with my dad's bluegrass lessons. If you are interested in some lessons and things, why don't you shoot me an email at info@jimmygrant.net!
