Alister, thank you for doing this interview with Matt Traum. Although I grew up within 10 miles of him, I have never known much about him personally. Over many years, I have dealt with Matt and Patchman Music on sound banks, controllers and wind synths. Although he is preeminent in his field, he is always responsive, patient and thorough, keeping his customers happy and loyal. You are both appreciated very much.

Guitar players have LES PAUL with his great jazz chops, creative invention discoveries, studio engineering innovations and electrical savvy. But us woodwind and brass players have MATT TRAUM. As far as I am concerned, Matt is our “Les Paul.” Thank you for this interview.

Alistair, sure LIKE! I enjoyed this virtual meeting with Matt... He is very kind and open person. I remember I had a desperate problem with Akai EWI 5000 on my first days after purchase. After acquiring just basic skills and wanting to brake this plastic stick :) first 2 days, I was up getting some satisfactory results. Then I purchused Patchman pack for my sitting in the dust Roland XV-5050 module. Followed instructions file coming with a patches pack , transferred pack to the module. Then new headache began... I desperately wrote to Matt. Just few offered by him settings on EWI made a miracle. Even those settings were against what was recommended in the AKAI manual for playing with use of external midi devices. Thank you very much for organizing a great virtual meeting. Michael.

These guys have been so helpful to my windsynth experience. For years, Matt kept my WX-5s working. He also helped me get into the AE-30. Matt is great to do business with. On the other hand, Alister taught me how to use the AE-30 through his Advanced course. I am truly grateful to these gentlemen for making the windsynth a truly enjoyable experience.

Thank you. The subscription might be a good option for people like me who want to access the forums and ask questions before actually buying a wind controller and possibly using the webinars.

Hey Alistair, thanks for the videos, i now own an Akai Solo EWI... and I watched a video of someone with a wireless mic Velcro strapped to their Akai Solo and has a 1/4 " jack that plugs into the EWI, any suggestions as to where to find one?

They are usually just a guitar wireless device. There are many of them. I use a line 6 device on my Akai.
