Just love this interview, i love Patrick's wholesome, and lively attitude towards the music, this interview was so inspiring, watching from the UK.

Thank you Steve for such a great interview! Patrick Bartley is an incredible musician! I love the depth of thought given to each question too. As far as John Leadbetter horns…I got mine, a custom tenor in 2018. I feel like I got in on the ground floor…lol. The horn plays amazing and John is THE man!

Great interview. Currently I'm trying to listen to the interchange between players and asking myself what I love so much about the relationship between Billie and Lester. I'm just mesmerized when I hear them together.

Thanks Thomas! I agree - they are magnetic and fascinating to watch and hear. This is no doubt partly because they are two of the greatest who ever lived!

Thanks Steve for this interview. Great questions! Patrick will be forever the guy who did that solo on "After you've gone" for me. Purely magical

Pat for me will always be the vgm/anime guy and the one who introduced me to Persona 5 music. My favourite is Confession Secret which also features the incredible Ben Eunson. But I also love his EC3 performances 💖

Thanks for checking out the interview Eric! That solo may have gotten a lot of peoples attention but every solo I hear him play is as epic as the "After You've Gone" solo 🎷🎷🔥🔥 I get what you're saying but just to elaborate, his original tunes (check them out if you havent!) and dedication to artistry are what gave him the ability to express so fluently on any set of chord changes. Thanks for checking out the interview, much appreciated!

When you ask you're done asking a question and allow the person to talk. Don't interupt them after, even if your going to say something nice. It ruins the flow of their answer. If you can't ask your question within 30 seconds or 4 sentences, you should refine it. Having better questions will provide a better answers.

@@SaxophoneSteveKortyka true, Steve. Just wish I could get there with KG. I just can’t, not with genius players like Bartley walking the planet. No shade to KG, it’s just…you know.🥴

@@directorytaliwag4100 i understand your point, I just don’t think his presence takes away from anybody else’s. It makes people appreciate a guy like Patrick that much more when they hear him and all the things he can do as well :)

@@SaxophoneSteveKortyka his presence does not takeaway from anyone else. Agreed. Full disclosure, I used to love KG’s contribution 20yrs ago and he’s been remarkably consistent. Nothing not to enjoy about him. We are all where we are when we are along our journey. Much respect.
