110%. I'm a trucker, and those lights are the WORST, *especially* after dark. The surface area of our mirrors catches so much more light than regular car or truck mirrors. Harder to adjust as well. Please be considerate people. I really don't want to cause a wreck because I can't see.

That wasn't an intro into off-road lighting. That was an advertisement for KC and how to spend $10k on lights. Lame

I feel like they lose touch with reality and what is reasonably affordable for people who don't offroad for a living.

It should be further discussed on knowing the Amp draw of all the lights and how many can actually be running at the same time. I have a dual battery setup and all LEDs and cannot run them all even while driving with a redarc dc/dc onboard charger, without depleting the auxiliary battery.

The husband of a gal my wife works with has a Jeep all pimped out with like $30K in aftermarket accessories. It NEVER sees dirt. They complained about not being able to afford tuition for their son. LOL, priorities be messed up! Would be nice if you could show some of the lights before mounting so we could see mount options, cabling, and switches.

they made the right choice. a degree is nearly worthless. a jeep provides many smiles per hour. idk if 30k could pay for college anyways, thats half of 1 semester. The american cope because you have to pay for college and healthcare is hilarious

Do you have a dual battery setup to be able to run many add'l lights while camping? I realize LEDs are sipping power compared to halogen or incandescent, but many over hours can still pull enough to drain a single battery.
@Reverend1776
@Reverend1776 Жыл бұрын
Lights can pull substantial drain even from the secondary battery, even while the engine as running as well.

Insane setup! And a ton of info. Ive never got into offroading, but some camping and this all is good to know. Funny how you dont know what you dont know until its talked about. Lol This was as good as the communications video he did. I was able to pass that one along to my brother who just moved to CO and started hiking in the mtns. He's a city boy with no outdoor experience really. These videos are possilby life saving for newbies that don't know any better. Thank you for all your shared info! Keep these videos coming!

Back in the 80s I had a yellow Dodge Power Wagon, I had a light bar on the roof and a set of KC Super Daylighters, when I turned them on driving through Ohio farmland opening day 430 in the morning, it was like the sun came up. I miss those days of simple.

Do you need to add a battery and/or different alternator to handle the extra lights? I have a Ford F350 and as you know, already has two batteries and a powerful alternator but would I need a different one?
@Reverend1776
@Reverend1776 Жыл бұрын
The key is knowing the Amp draw on your lighting and how much your system can handle. I personally cannot run all my lights at the same time even with dual battery and vehicle on.

Is that Jeep really big or is he really small. I can't work it out 😅
@renegaderats
@renegaderats Жыл бұрын
Your comment got me curious so looked up the dimensions of some of the parts on the jeep then measured them on my screen and used that as a base to figure out the overall height of the truck. I then used this base to measure the man standing next to the truck, deliberately selecting scenes where he is close to the truck and the camera is pointing head on (to minimize scaling differences). I repeated these steps in multiple scenes to check my numbers, always coming up with roughly the same measurements. Assuming my measurements/math is correct I would estimate the truck stands about 6'3" tall and the man stands about 5'9" tall.

He says he is 5’4” in another video but I think you are correct or close on the truck as I think I’ve heard it’s on 40” tires, plus I don’t think the ground is very level. Edit: just as I added my comment he said his tires are forties (40s)

Back up lights on Sierras and Silverados suck. I replaced bulbs to brighter LED bulbs and they are brighter but still, coverage is not What I like. Need to cut some holes in bumper and install aux bright led lights.
@jcsabolt2
@jcsabolt2 Жыл бұрын
You might try some bright LED lights tucked up in front of the rear bumper looking straight down or at a 45^ angle looking back. No one get blinded and you should be able to see just fine with the light bouncing off the ground. Those magnetic mounts he mentioned may be the ticket so you can get them exactly where you want them.

No need to. If you have a hitch you can get the bracket that hooks to your square receiver and mount the lights that way. I have one from Amazon. Can't remember the brand. I searched "reverse auxiliary lights" and they popped up.
