This is very interesting, so the wet agent removes the wax on plants, does the plants produced the wax again to cover the dissolved wax by the wetting agent?
@ScienceinHydroponics
@ScienceinHydroponics Жыл бұрын
The wax is not dissolved, the tension between the water and the wax is reduced, so there's better adhesion of the water to the wax. However, the wax doesn't go anywhere .

Hi Daniel, Do you have some general recipe with concetrations for foliar spraying?
@ScienceinHydroponics
@ScienceinHydroponics 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting. In my opinion, there is no such thing as a "general recipe", foliar feeding should be done to address specific issues within a crop, so each foliar spray is formulated differently, depending on what it's for. Bear in mind that foliar and root feeding are very different so you should not try to feed leaves as you would roots (for example with a wide mix of nutrients).

For the foilar nutrient spraying is it best to spray the under side of the leaves or top?
@ScienceinHydroponics
@ScienceinHydroponics 3 жыл бұрын
Under sides would be more effective, but for nutrient sprays usually entire spraying of the plant, top and bottom, is recommended.

Solid content as always. It would also help my father who sometimes uses foliar sprays for his traditional gardening :) A question about pesticides. In one of your articles about aphids, you did mention the use of Lecanicillium Lecanii as a pesticide. I found out while it wasn't available to where I live, there are other products that use Beauveria Bassiana instead. Would it be an acceptable substitute?
@ScienceinHydroponics
@ScienceinHydroponics 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! Beauveria Bassiana works against aphids, but in my experience it is not as effective as Lenacillium Lecanii. This can change depending on plant species, aphid species, and environmental circumstances though. You should definitely give it a try though!

Hi Daniel excellent videos. I am reading through your blog about nutrient solution mixes. I am trying the modified cooper and modified sonneveld for leafy greens such as lettuce and bok choy. However based on your experience, what can you recommend for crops like kale, cauliflower and broccoli. I am also unsure for tomatoes and melons. Some recommendations for kale , I can't even get a mix almost exact without adding too much nitrogen from ammonium.
