Also, check to see which system version you have. It should be: V4.23.3_5.92 (Setting-About), if not, reboot the scanner for an update.

I hear that. I've sold a lot of my smaller, less capable scanners but I still have that Autel you sold me. Love that tool for the older vehicles like my 94 rollback with the 96 engine and ECU. In fact, it's the only scanner that will work on that truck.

I missed a few features with this tool like it dos have a graphing mode but in another area. I try to keep these videos fairly short but by doing that people miss some of the functions. It's always a balancing act.

Looks like that D7 scanner could help get some work done. I recently started playing with the Xtool EZ400pro, pretty good so far. I have the D8 coming soon. It does what your D7 can do but it can also be used to program modules. Nice review Wyatt!

I think this tool has some pretty good options for the money. Yes, the D8 has been offered to me as well to compare it against my Autel 906. I'm debating that right now. I'll be looking for your video. I like learning about new technology.

If your interested in diagnostics, you have to have some kind of scanner. This one has some bi-directional control which adds a lot of functions for the price. There are so many choices out there that it makes it hard to chose and understand which is best.

I believe there is an update that will allow you to switch the view from meter to graph.. I personally dont like the meter and prefer the graph data as it shows movement over " time" as meters only show where its at " at the moment" - great machine for the price and 3 years of free updates is a no brainer. I did my research and after watching this video I bought the Xtool D7. It came in the mail Friday, 3/12/22, and I played with it on the weekend. I worked on My 2003 Volvo S40, which had the check engine light on. I was able to make the windshile go on and off and it read some other stuff. The D7 has a lot of options and I was wondering if you would put up a KZbin video with simple steps to check things like fuel trim and see the graphs. I am a beginner, (level 1) but I can follow directions well.

I appreciate your comment and I'm happy to hear the D7 has worked for you. I too am a beginner. While I have multiple scan tools, I really don't get a chance to use them much as I am a DIY guy who works on his own vehicles. In any case, if I have a need to use the D7 in a future project I will certainly make a video. It is also possible that I may make a video to explain more features about the tool as one video can not show everything. I have other projects that need my attention and making additional videos will be difficult. I will make a video as soon as I can. Thank you for your interest.

I have the D7, playing with it but no idea what I'm doing. Baby steps learning little by little. My first scanner was over $100 but it only reads and reset trouble codes. $100 now those scanners do so much, much more.

What I still don't get: live data, it throws a zillion data & numbers, yet how to know if a number falls within standard limits for my particular car? The numbers don't turn red if they fall out of acceptable range, or something like that.

Scan tools requires a pretty steep learning curve. You'll have to find service information or the parameters that your computer is looking for in order to understand what data is within the specified parameters. I know it's frustrating but every scan tool is different so that's why the professionals have multiple scan tools. If your a DIY guy like me that can be expensive. I wish I could help further. Google might even be help to you to find the parameters your looking for.
