@punishedfelix, I dont think you actually described the philosophical distinctives of Guattari enough for anyone to know what it means to "main" Guattari. I'd recommend a reading of "Capitalism & Schizophrenia" while keeping in mind that their 'rhizome' theory is a method of reframing materialistic ethics -and thusly has implications towards Marx, but is not inherently Marxist as much as it is a critical position towards capitalism and any attempt on building a materialist ethics system based on it. What makes this relavent is the VERY current struggle between Fukuyamaists (position: the capitalism is ethical if it does what it claims to accomplish for the consumer) and the various modern schools of Marxism. Guattari and Deleuze really do belong together and their postions are so syncreric that you cant talk about one without the other. Also! The reason their works are hard to access is because they put their ethical framework on the same level as religion and like to write in a religious way.

To be fair this is a very introductory level video to try to get people to read Guattari's solo works and various researchers talking about him. I might make something more heavily researched explaining the distinctions between Deleuze, Guattari and Deleuze-Guattari. I don't really agree though that they "belong" together, since they were both doing stuff outside of their collaboration together and that's pretty obvious through Guattari's interviews. I think it's worth talking about that side of him.

@@dimitriantanov3150 Okay, that's just simply not true; transversality was literally referenced by Deleuze from Guattari before they even met! It is very much associated strongly with Guattari's practice at La Borde. Please go read about it, even his smaller essays on it in the essay collection Chaosophy make this abundantly clear. Also, Guattarian schizoanalysis is a completely different project than AO/ATP, Guattari's interviews in the winter years/ecosophy make that pretty obvious (ecosophy is also one of Guattari's solo projects introduced in the Three Ecologies!). I gloss over an introduction to the 4 quad at 13:08 to make people a little less intimidated going into the material. I didn't go into detail because this is an introduction to an extremely difficult philosopher that I want people to actually READ the books and formulate their own opinion instead of just following my channel and assuming "that's what the material says!" There's already enough of that on KZbin! Sorry that this video wasn't what you're looking for but I hope you understand better now the intent of it.

Oh this is a fantastic video. I've been looking up a lot of lectures and supplementary material on both Deleuze and Guattari (it helps me to get a basic grasp of a text before I get to it proper) and I adored finding this. Not only is the thesis on Guattari's importance very well argued for but the format got me very excited to finally read him! I can't wait to play Guattari!

Such a fantastic video! I almost cried at his optimism and the possibilities he envisioned. There is a lot of pessimistic, damning and doomer approaches especially in far-left literature because the ability to be critical of the wider oppressive structures makes change seem that much more impossible. You have given me direction and emboldened me.
