On this episode of Acid Horizon, we're joined by Professor Gary Genosko to discuss essays from Machinic Eros, a collection of Felix Guattari's writings and interviews from this cultural exchange trips to Japan. We explore notions of machinic value and machinic enslavement, as well as control societies and Guattari's enthusiasm for the Free Radio Movement. We also go into some of Guattari's conversations with figures from the Japanese Avant-Garde, such as the dancer and performance artist Min Tanaka, as well as dissecting Guattari's invocations of bygone icons of Japanese architecture, which have since evaporated in the flows of capitalist desire.

This superceding - it's hard for me to distinguish this from financialization. I think I have a lack of context on the Japan point unless it somehow speaks to this, "I'll be whatever you want me to be," or that invasive draining of desires or shaping of an auto-commodification Crazy to think about the cable interfaces, mag strip, etc. I am curious about this other book because this interfacing, from my perspective, I imagine first like a resume, the social cv / media profile, lack thereof, etc. Or just the similar experience for TV folks doing ad deals. The hotel with different rooms - or miniaturization & indexing or categorical ratios sounds to me like some sort of dependent type system. Technology can (maybe) accomplish, at best, what we're able to imagine already. The non-communication, I think this is more like this .hack // sign or isekai kind of internet - like that time exists in complete separation from the original formula. The bullied kid becomes a hyperpowerful magical sorcerer, & the bully becomes deserving of the suffering that is imagined to be inflicted I would like to see his response to the Miku Domino's ad for sure

@@vvendetta721, no I don’t think so… it’s not just Analysis. It has the imbedded assumption that any given facet should be replaced by just anything. It’s ok, it’s just that the critique isn’t always cooler then capitalism, but lazy thinkers don’t know.
