An Island I'll Never Forget- Hiking & A Stay At Dibidil Bothy On Rum

I had been looking forward to this trip for ages and it didn't disappoint. After catching the ferry over from Mallaig, I hiked the stunning coastal route around to Dibidil Bothy. What a setting it has. It is where rugged mountains and an equally rugged coastline combine to create breathtaking scenery.
A good night has had before I completed much of the famous Rum Cuillin walk the following day. An incredible experience and one I'd strongly suggest you try yourself.

Having grown up on the Isle of Lewis I can relate to the midge problem..people don’t realise just how life changing they are ….you literally can’t go outside without repellent, nets, etc

@@danexitsstreetview3273 no, I’ve lived in Lewis for the first 20 years of my life and have travelled through Skye, Mull, Iona,Staffa, Benbeculla, Arran and Shetland but I do want to see Mull,Tiree and Muck. But damn those midges

Yes I did. They say by the bothy for a bit and then caught a boat. Were you one of them?

156 is impressive. I have lost count but I would guess around thirty or so in Scotland and then more in England and Wales too. Doing Fisherfield Forest late October hopefully.

Mate you are wearing the wrong colours for that part of the world in the Summer months, no wonder there were midgies everywhere! Stick to dark colours, nothing yellow or orange.
