@@holoholopainen1627 I may have the skills, but I do NOT have the health and ability any longer. I actually lived in the woods for 3 and 1/2 months with 5 kids, 3 cats, 15-20 small birds, 1 small dog and an African pygmy goat....and my wasband too. We were waiting to close on our new home that we put on the land. We figured that we would put our things in storage and take the kids camping for a week. Since we were the ones to develop the property and we decided to go VA on our loan, we spent 3 and 1/2 months jumping through hoops, while our finished house sat empty and we could NOT even go inside until we were given the key at closing. Needless to say, I have NOT camped since that time. 😂🤣

Reminds me of the film “Local Hero” which was about two guys from a big oil company who visited a tiny island for purposes of buying land for the corporation. The people who lived there were quirky and independent, and as time went on the two oil company guys fell in love with the place. After watching the movie, I also wanted to move there. Catch this movie, it has some unexpected turns and also an unforgettable performance by Burt Lancaster.

@Jon Commons Well, I can knit; sew; repair car/truck/boat engines; do drywall, roofing, stucco, plumbing; hydroponic, greenhouse, cold frames and direct planting of year round veggies, fruit and nut trees- general farming. I've also done long haul trucking and I'm certified to pull double 40' trailers. I have leveled ground for houses and made roads with a grader. I can drive anything. I just don't enjoy those things as much. I hardly think I'm worse than useless.

What a wonderful community. I would love to visit. Perhaps I would love it so much that I would want to stay. That is if the community would welcome me. I see you have the STONES like in the Highlander. My grandpa John Walker was Scott Irish. I have always wanted to go back.

Resillient, self sufficient and patient to be able to stay in that isle,he said. Me: One must have a good soul and a beautiful spirit to stay and last in that wonderful place. How lucky those people are to live in it and how lucky the place is to have those amazing people trully taking care of the isle.😅😇😊

The people are smiling, giggling and overall content. Yep, paradise. Libertarian and Satisfied. Isolation is a drawback, and lack of medical/dental care.
