Heard this song for the first time nine years ago, when you were performing at 'De Doelen' in Rotterdam. It made the biggest impression on me. Last week, I returned to the same venue longing to hear it again live, for the second time. I brought my mother along, same as in 2015. Afterwards, we agreed to come visit you each Christmastime, because we can't imagine celebrating it together any better than in a festively lit up Rotterdam city centre, infused with your ethereal sounds. The fact that Michael and the choir (sorry) have a great sense of humor also helps.

There are no words, at least in my language, that can adequately describe the pure, sheer, heart-wrenching beauty of this hymn.

So much pain associated with religion and the way human beings have distorted it. This song is about that too.

At that time Jerusalem shall be called the throne of the Lord, and all nations shall gather to it, to the presence of the Lord in Jerusalem, and they shall no more stubbornly follow their own evil heart. Psalm 122:6 ESV

@Mike Manners I think you may be confusing your psalms. Psalm 122 is my favourite - and that is definitely not 122.

Jerusalem, our happy home When shall we come to thee? When shall our sorrows have an end? Thy joys when shall we see? They see no one that sent her there Their palms spring from the ground No tongue can tell, no heart can think What joys do there abound Forever more the trees perfumed And ever more they spring And ever more the saints are glad And ever more they sing Fair Magdalene, she has less moan Likewise there she does sing The happy saints in harmony Through every street doth ring Fair Magdalene hath dried her tears She'll sing no more to thee Nor wet the ringlets of her hair To wash her savior's feet

The current Georgia Tech choir director is part of Anuna. All my friends said the concert we put on under her direction was absolutely stunning. It was a privilege to be trained under Dr. Inman. We will miss her as she goes to sing at Carnegie Hall and NYSO.

@@bridgettehester4192 Chorus: Jerusalem our happy home When shall we come to thee When shall our sorrow have an end? Thy joy, when shall we see? Solo 1: There's cinnamon the scenteth sweet; There palms spring on the ground. No tongue can tell, no heart can think, What joy do there abound. Chorus: Jerusalem our happy home When shall we come to thee When shall our sorrow have an end Thy joy, when shall we see? Solo 2: For evermore the trees bear fruit, And evermore they [do] spring And evermore the saints are glad, And evermore they sing Chorus: Jerusalem our happy home, When shall we come to thee. When shall our sorrow have an end? Thy joy, when shall we see? Solo 3: There Magdalen she has less moan Like wise there she doth sing; The happy saints in harmony And every street doth ring Chorus: Jerusalem our happy home When shall we come to thee When shall our sorrow have an end? Thy joy when shall we see? Solo 4: Fair Magdalen hath dried her tears; She's seen no more to weep, Nor wet the ring lets of her hair, To wipe our saviour's feet Chorus: Jerusalem our happy home When shall we come to thee When shall our sorrow have an end? Thy joy when shall we see? Slightly altered Chorus (different melody): Jerusalem our happy home When shall we come to thee When shall our sorrow have an end? Thy joy when shall we see?
