Pretty sure the Pelicans recognized they had something with Murphy that he would have been very costly to try to get. Potential All Stars on rookie contracts are some of the most valuable contracts in the league. Who the Nuggets should have targeted getting from Pelicans was Josh Hart a few seasons ago. Josh Hart and Alex Caruso are the two role guys I would want to have on the Nuggets more than any others in the whole league.

Would love to hear your @jjredick comparison of Blake Griffin and Aaron Gordon. Skill set, athleticism, role. You played with him. Put Griffin on Denver's roster (similar points in their careers) ... how do they do? Thank you - love listening to your podcasts
@penkima49237 ай бұрын
The most important ability is availability. In today's league more than ever. Skill-wise Griffin is a top-10 power forward all time, and would lift the Nuggets' regular season record. But he would be missing in action in the playoffs, so they'd win no rings without a power forward. It's better to have AG. Griffin could handle the ball and pass, on par with most point guards in today's league. And a vet Griffin was physically the strongest player in every game he played.

I've been debating this with friends over the past few years, the biggest discourse between NBA and NFL narratives, I think, is that NBA 1)has a younger audience and 2) Because NBA is younger the fans are more casual, some people only "follow" it because all their friends at lunch or when they hangout all talk about it so to not feel left out or uncool they keep up but maybe not even watching the games more so box scores or follow accounts that report the NBA. There's a large majority of NFL fans who don't even have or use social media and the ones that do are actual dedicated fans who watch every single game (helps that there's only 1 a week and 16 total vs 82 games and multiple within a week), NBA fans care about players more than teams and treat it like a soap opera where they want storylines and drama. I could keep going but the main difference is NBA is more casual and when something is casual you get people who genuinely don't care chiming in because its popular and they want to appear cool or that they aren't the one person who is outside of the group

I find it interesting that some of the old timers are "scared" that JJ might join LeBron and the Lakers as Head Coach. You know...There is another side too. They CAN WIN BIG! LeBron, the GREATEST of all time is like a coach on the court, and that is one of the reasons I believe he is so great. The Lakers were not blown out by the Nuggets. LeBron and JJ working schematically can overcome these tight games in which just a little more scoring is needed from the supporting cast. IT CAN WORK! Then...What will you ALL have to say??? 🎤

The odds makers don't set the odds by who they think will win by how much. They set them by the public betting trends. They're trying to split the bets as close to 50-50 as possible. It is all decided by where the money goes. They don't attempt to pick games. Please take the time to look into this. Common knowledge with betters.

Pointless to comment, but ill try to respond to "JJ" rant on NFL/NBA. As someone who was born in 84, and follows basketball/football I will say this. In football JJ it takes 11 people(or 53 man roster) to win a SB basketball you can win a championship with 2 people, on rare occasions there are absurd miss calls by the refs(Saints/Rams playoffs a few years ago) but typically the players decide who wins the game. In basketball its very obvious the league office has their "hands" in the pot, they will work the with Zebras(refs) to make sure certain teams win or go 7 game series for $$$$. But I will say I think the NFL is starting to do the same thing, they have switched their marketing strategy for clicks/views rather then best team wins.
