Too many inconsistencies...First, the river "DAh-JAh-BON" does not start in haiti but in DR...Second. as per the 1929 treaty, article 10 neither party should do anything in the river to alter the flow of the water unilaterally consult. Third, haiti is govern 80% of criminal gangs so there is no valid representation, the army was sent to protect dominican interest. DR has built water intakes( not divergence) from the river to deliver water to DR and Haiti too...Honestly,this is why the "NO RELATIONSHIP" between Haiti and DR is the best relationship we can have, let's see what the OAS is going to say about this conflict. The border should be closed forever and you Haitians stay in your side and we stay in our side to avoid issues.

Haitian leaders keep playing its ppl. Because I saw an interview and the DR said it even Ofer to help haiti build one and a hospital on the border. Yet it was turned down. Meaning the DR hospital’s well be over populated. leading to unrest In the DR’s population that is upset they spends like 34% of it’s healthcare budget on Haiti. Forcing its ppl to go to clinics if the want better services. While Haiti’s leaders capitalize on the rift between both sides which should be along.

This video was going well when it showed a satellite image of the construction of the canal and the data of the treaty! until he mentioned 11 channels without having the evidence in his hands! I invite you to show where these channels are located and show the images! The Dominican Republic opened an old channel that was probably closed to respect the treaties between both countries and all this as a consequence of Haiti's actions. I want to see all those who joined the cause of the canal fighting against the bargains and not seeking refuge in the Dominican Republic when things get worse due to a probable civil war. The money spent on that canal should have been used in the construction of hospitals and stop using 40% of the helthcare budget of the Dominican Republic!

...................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... A series of falsehoods in your story: The Dajabón River is totally Dominican and only two kilometers of it enter Haiti, which is where they are depredating it to divert it, consequently the Dominican Republic has every right to claim the Haitian state [which does not There is currently such a Haitian state] that intervenes to prevent individuals and farmers from attacking the river indiscriminately. The treaty clearly establishes that only states can intervene in the rivers shared between the two countries with the prior consent of the other. Second: The eleven water intakes built on the Dominican side are public works carried out by the Dominican government, not by individuals, with prior agreement with the Haitian government. Two of these eleven water intakes are to feed irrigation canals in Haitian territory and one of them has been invalidated due to the depredation of the river by sand traffickers who destroyed the western bank of the river that belongs to Haiti. The rational use of water does not harm the river and the Dominican Republic, as a state responsible for the environment, is genuinely concerned because the tradition among Haitians is to destroy everything through the irrational use of non-renewable resources. You lie when you say that the Dominican president intends to divert the river through a canal that he is going to build when the objective of that work is to prevent the diversion of the river caused by irrational Haitian farmers led by a gang of political criminals from leaving people without water. to more than 40,000 hectares of agricultural land dedicated to rice cultivation on the Dominican side and another 20,000 hectares on the Haitian side when the diversion built by these farmers absorbs all of the river's water in the nine months of the year in which the river only carries a meter and a half of water. In other words, the diversion that they are poorly building on the Haitian side could take away all the water, leaving thousands of Dominican and Haitian farmers without the precious liquid. You lie when you say that in 2021 there was an agreement between the states and what you cite is only part of the conversations that were taking place and that did not reach any agreement, taken out of context to lie as you Haitians have always done. You lie that when you say that the Dominican military is on the border to intimidate, they are on the border to prevent the illegal trafficking of your fellow citizens who got used to crossing the border illegally to the Dominican side to do whatever they wanted without any Consequently, I fear those horrible days will not return. You speak as if something could be discussed with your country when you are specialists in not respecting anything, your country is not a country; It is just a human conglomerate united by racial reasons. They do not have a state that represents them and that is why detestable characters like the majority of Haitian politicians do whatever they want in the name of a country that they themselves do not know about when they assume important political positions...we are not going with a country like that to dialogue.

By the way, another person whose actively involved in the construction of the canal is Dr. Bertrhude Albert. She has a non-profit organization in Haiti that has already been established in Haiti for many years. She is one of the key people who has been at the forefront on the canal site and should be acknowledged and supported. She has raised over $100,000 from diaspora who have donated. All of the proceeds have gone towards strictly towards the construction materials and food for the Haitian people who are constructing the canal. I hope to see her interviewed on your platform.

Congratulation for the quality of your contents. This Canal is actually "illegal" because Haiti didn't share the projects or any feasibility study with the other part (the Dominican Republic). Dominican Republic is not against any use of water by haitian farmers as declared many times by the dominican Government, it's against any PRIVATE USE of the resource, as it looks is going to be happening by now...!!! Now it looks that haitian Authorities are using this issues and "blackmailing in orde to gain advantages" on the dominican migration and comercial politics, this is how the dominican side is receiving the feedbacks... So I really hope this Arbitration will be able to clarify the situation as soon as possible. We all want mutual respect and progress for both peoples.

The Dominican Republic does not oppose an irrigation canal. What the government says is the canal being built now does not follow the agreed specifications from the first conversations. The Dominican government says it's not an irrigation canal, but a water transfer which will indeed alter the course of the river. Also the Dajabon/Masacre river does not originate in the Haitian side, it starts in the Pico De Gallo Montain, in the Dominican side. The Dominican canals do not infringe the treaty as those are irrigation canals follow all the considerations and some of those even benefit haitian farmers

Was Haiti involved in the constructions? Did Haiti sign off on them? Or are supposed just trust what you all say? “The river starts on Dominican side.” So then show us the deed that God and Mother Nature gave you to claim you own the river and can make unilateral decisions on how it is used. “The Dominican government says…” Right. So, governments have ZERO interest in obfuscating and lying about issues. Governments are a TRUSTED SOURCE. And back to how is that ALL TWELVE (12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) COMPLETED canals on the DR side supposedly “follow ALL(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) the considerations but Haiti’s ONE INCOMPLETE canal does not plus also not “benefit” DR farmers. Wait a minute…we have to just believe the Dominican government has the best interest of competing Haitian farmers on Haiti’s side. How just because of that canal they closed the border (only to reopen it to haitian money), how they are preventing haitian who are LEGAL resident in the DR from using public transportation ect... Now I do not hate the DR but I just do not care at all about this country. On this particular river the DR has one canal. That canal “la vijia” had been out of service for 20 years it has been rehabilitated recently and it isn’t connected to the river it uses pumps to get the water. I don’t know where the number comes from but I believe Haitians had get confused because that’s the number of dams in the DR and that has nothing to do with this river. I personally know the river and the topography of the area as well the canal plans. the risk of flooding after the canal project is completed is possible. Sadly this river is at a very bad stage. The water flow isn’t constant. I don’t think it will be a secure water source for the Haitians because it hasn’t been one for the Dominican agriculture in the zone. In fact the dike Haitians are building can flood both Dajabon and wanament during severe rain up in the DR mountain of Loma de Cabrera.

That’s fine no problem but what will happen when the water level overpass the dike? What should have been done was build a dike along both communities wanament an Dajabon to protect them. A few points I think you misunderstood. Because everyone wants Haiti to do good. Just its leaders use tensions with his neighbor to keep pillaging the nation and its people. 1. Bro The river doesn’t start in Haiti. Also I think Haiti has a right to also use the water. 2. The agreed project is different from what’s being done by a regular ppl. That can’t be held accountable if it goes wrong. Also I think it could be resolved if Haiti and the DR in a joint project both have a team do a new study given the project has changed. To make sure it doesn’t affect either side. 3. Trujillo gave up parts of some land to let Haiti get some of the water ways. And yes ik he was bad just like papa Doc. 4. The 11 canals you speak of was agreed don’t affect nor divert the only diversion of the water in the DR is to a Japanese colony from back in the day. 5. What new “12th” one ? If it was literally already built but got shut down they are only going to reopen it if they can’t come to an agreement. 6. A international body went to check out the canal but Haiti wasn’t having it. Happened Like 2 weeks ago. 7. Idk about 10k soldiers but the ones that are on site are Incase of an outbreak. Given the project isn’t being done by the government. Meaning it could easily get out of control. Even the gangs said at one point they’re heading to the Canal. I pray for Haiti but anyone would have its army ready if its neighbor was in the middle of a political and civil conflict.

Secondly, Dominican Republic annual budget is 12.8 billions and Haiti usage surplus is 3 billions... So remove that 3 billions and the DR budget tâches another 3 billion deficit. @@joantonio6331 with all due respect, i love the professional discussions, if you go to the world bank stats 2022, you'll see DR's GDP is 114.6 billions USD, so if you compare that in to the 1.5% total exports vs imports of the country you end up having about 0.15% of DR's total GDP in the "low quality" production sector which Haiti consumes unlike any other country in the region, I invite you to do the exercise and then we can talk whenever you want. On the other hand, cutting off public health services to haitians illegals will compensate the loss, what really may impact is the sudden change in the border free trade dynamics of the border zone and that may explains very well why some sectors are looking forward to reopen due to their commercial advantage to a "low quality" market. Regarding the xenophobic comments, i will pass on it, because i know that some people have so much hate and bigotry that it's difficult to compare logistics and facts. i just remind you that haitian constitution prohibits white people to own land, so tell me who's more racist?
