Phone-booths are excellent for tourists! When I was in Tokyo last summer, and was going back home, the flight was cancelled and I had to call the Chinese embassy in Tokyo and get in touch with a few people and stuff to get new tickets, luckily Tokyo is littered with phone-booths!

The payphone is an endangered species. Should it be protected? In many locations, I can find multiple cellular phone stores easier than being able to locate a working payphone. Cellular phone are government tracking devices ... which happen to be able to make and receive phone calls.
