Hi David! I have recently found your channel by your GTA 4 video (which is a fantastic video btw) and I really enjoyed this video. I have always enjoyed the state of mind travelling puts you in, whether it is by car, train, plane or even walking; it can isolate you from the people and the world around us, as if you are an outsider looking in, thus allowing for introspective thought to take centre stage in your mind and see the world through a different lens. A painter who I really admire and who addresses these themes of alienation and transition is Edward Hopper, who's cinematic style of painting would feature lone individuals in deep thought whilst travelling in trains or beside roads. I'd love to do a similar trip like this where I drive across America, taking photographs and making films of my travels. From, a new subscriber from the UK.

Thanks Matt. This is one of my less appreciated videos, but I still really love it to this day. That's cool of you to share!

I think anyone engaged with aesthetics and open to calling a trip on a train a beautiful narrative is way more romantic than they might otherwise think.
