3:00 Never thought I'd see rail I used to ride on this channel! That's the J Church line letting off at the top corner of Dolores Park between the Castro and the Mission. There was nothing like working all day and then disembarking at that corner, with the late afternoon golden hour sun lighting up the downtown buildings in the distance.

It's a great spot! When my partner and I visited for this road trip there were a bunch of people just hanging out in the park sunbathing, neither of us had experienced anything like that before with so many people just out relaxing in a public space!

I was able to recognize every spot: from the Muni along balboa park, the NWP crossing the Petaluma River. (...new draw bridge?), and of course, the SP crossing at the Carquinez Straight. along the Cal-P. It's great to see that the PCC cars are still in use on the Muni...

Thank you! The drawbridge is new, installed as part of the upgrades for SMART. I have footage along the old NWP further north but I'm reserving that for a more tightly edited video.

@@RailfanJunction Can't wait to see your video! I got to catch the twilight yeas of the SP operations along the NWP n the 90's when I lived in Sonoma Co. I fondly remember the large braces of "Cadillac's" SD9's that they used on those trains.

I was shocked to see that rusty GP40-2 is an Ex Cotten Belt. I could only tell it was an Ex Cotten Belt or SP because of it’s horn. Not to mention the other rusty units that briefly appear on the end.

Great video. The SMART train shots are in Petaluma, not Novato. That is the drawbridge over the Petaluma River with Highway 101 just behind it. Cheers mates.

Yep! Hard to tell with the literal zero markings that are left on it but it's ex Cotton Belt!

Hi railfan junction I was wondering what program you use to upload your videos I use image edge mobile and I can't seem to find out why my videos always stutter when I post it on KZbin any help would be appreciated

I'm not sure about uploading from mobile as I've never done so, I just use my computer and upload through my web browser of choice. If you have access to a computer in some capacity (even a library one) sending a file to that computer and uploading it through there should work, I don't know if third party apps screw with framerate
