I'm sorry for the incoming long commont, but I love watching reactions. I love seeing people's reactions to new stuff and seeing them enjoying it. However, there's some stuff I feel like is becoming an issue within the kpop reaction community that are beginning to weigh on me. 1. People getting upset when someone chooses to not check out a group or decides to take a break from making reactions for a little bit. The reactors that we watch are human beings, guys. We talk about how fans unjustly hold their idols to unfair standards and how it's why idols would rather collapse from exhaustion than take a break. Some reactors now also feel bad and actually apologize for taking breaks for their own health, physical or mental. We need to normalize the fact that these are people and they have lives outside of entertaining us. And kpop is also ENTERTAINTMENT. It is meant to be something that people enjoy. We can't keep putting preassure on creators to try and make their whole lives revolve around their fans and their content. They deserve breaks and to be happy and enjoy what they are doing, because that is what we really want to see - we want to see people genuinely enjoy these things, not be exhausted and sad and feeling like they HAVE to make content. 2. People getting upset when reactors watch content and DON'T film their reaction. You are absolutely allowed to enjoy new groups and not film your reactions. You are not obligated to show up your first look at something. I absolutely would not mind reactors watching things on their own time as well, and speaking on other MVs they saw in their reaction. For example, I reccommend listening to 'Ride on the Wind,' 'Hola Hola,' and 'Ring the Alarm.' They have similar vibes and I think they are all great. But you could also listen to two out of three of those songs, and then talk about your opinons on the two songs you DIDN'T record your reactions to. I don't think there is anything wrong with that and people should be able to enjoy content the way they want to when they want to and we can still be happy for all of the content that they DO give us. 3. People being rude when a reactor doesn't have the greatest reaction to something (or the reaction the watcher wanted). Korean music is evolving just like everything else does and it is branching out into different genres and groups are trying new things. There are a lot of different styles in popular Korean music right now, and not every sound is going to be for everyone. I don't have a single group that I love every single song of. Maybe it is just because I am picky, but as much as a song from a group might be on every single playlist I make, that might also be the ONLY song by them I like. That is also okay, and if someone doesn't have the reaction you want, or doesn't continue to react to a group because it is not their favourite, there is nothing wrong with that. Different oppinons are a given, and there are a lot of reactors and watchers, so that's simply inevitible and it is OKAY. 4. People giving a reactor flack when they checks out a group but a) doesn't know the members' names and haven't done any research, and c) doesn't return to the group or begin stanning them. This kind of ties into the first point in the that - these creators are human and kpop is supposed to be entertaining. We cannot get angry at them if they do not wish to put in MORE time to essentially do research on a group they are about to react to. Similarly, no one has time to stan all groups reccommended to them - there are so many and most of them are amazing. Stanning all of them is impossible, and stanning them all ON CAMERA is just a ridiculous request, my dudes. Let's give our creators some more space and be kinder when interacting with them. They are not pixels on your screen, they are human beings on the other end. Give love, not hate, friends.
