An Old 70's Twin Fin Saves the Day!!

I don't longboard. When it gets REALLY small, people sometimes ask me, "Do you ever longboard?" Or, they just TELL me, "You should longboard!" To which I reply, "You should mind your own business, crapturd!" Just kidding, but I hate longboarding. I suck at it worse than I suck at normal surfing. Six-year-old kids learning to surf on soft tops are better at longboarding than I am. It feels like trying to turn the sidewalk, and I'm too spazzy to just stand there.
So, what's my solution? I ride this excellent old 70's twin fin I bought about 15 years ago from a guy on the Big Island. You can't see it in the video, but it says, "STUBBIES" in giant letters across the deck. The story goes it was one of the prices in the 1979 Stubbies Classis at Burleigh Heads. It's in super good condition, so I could have tucked it away in the garage as an investment. But it's just too much fun to ride when the waves are next to nothing. It's about the same length as my normal shortboards, about 5'8", I think. It has about 15 more liters, so it floats like a massive catamaran.
Despite the beautiful conditions, Travis and I were the only ones out this day. Video (and the board) makes these waves look bigger and more fun than they actually were. It was friggin' tiny, but with the old twinnie I still caught 967 waves and had a blast. Travis managed to get a few on his modern fish, but this edit is really meant to glorify my little gem of a board. As with most of our videos, there's still a bit of yelling and kooking for your pleasure, too. ;-)
