Detailed GUITAR TABS for this song - enareths.com/product/was-woll...
Originally it's a traditional song of Brittany called "Son Ar Chistr" ("The song of the cider"), but also known as "Was wollen wir trinken" which is a German version of the song. Scooter also used a sample of this song in their “How much is the fish”.

This song is French, or rather two peasant brothers from Breton: Jean-Bernard Prima and Jean-Marie Prima.

I love that the song isn't at all about the drinking. It's about companionship. About having to work hard for a long time, but the work won't be that hard because they all work together. About having to fight...whatever the fight might be, you're always fighting together. And then basically for all those hard times, there will be a time to come together with your loved ones to just enjoy yourself and your friendship, knowing there's always someone there for you. I loved your cover. It was amazing and also reflected what I think about that song.

Bruh....took me a while, but I remembered. How Much is The Fish (Scooter) had that melody playing. It used to be big back home, got some serious nostalgia from this.

Thanks for posting this, I was worried I'd have to spend all day looking for where I recognized this. Definitely 10/10 nostalgia.

Wonderful guitar! I really like this tune sung to the lyrics of a 1700s ballad called Willie's Lady.

I think that my favourite version of Was wollen wir trinken is the one by D'artagnan, but I really love your accoustic version, it has a very nice feel to it, great for a chill out evening with a beer. I need check out your channel and see what else you have now.

Your guitar version is really great stuff! Thanks a lot :) But it is not a German song, certainly not an old one, but a Breton one, composed in 1929, published in 1951. Then played by the very famous Breton harper Alan Stivell in 1970. It became known in Germany by the Dutch band “Bots”, who played in front of 50,000 people at “Rock gegen Rechts” in Frankfurt, Rebstockgelände in 1979.
