@brewen_lmrch Жыл бұрын
It's not. It was made by two brothers that's right, but they wrote that just to incite people buying their cider. It was in 1929 in Brittany, a Celtic region of France, and was latter popularized by German bands in Germany and Alan Stivell in France. But people don't give enough credit to the original song which was sung in Briton. The original song name is Son Ar Chistr.

It is not a nazi song, far from it, this song is from the seventies and sung by a Dutch band, rooted in the socialist and peace movement. I have no clue why people put these lyrics under images of German soldiers...
@stevenvandemsky72903 жыл бұрын
This used to be a socialist left wing song by the dutch band „Bots“, who were notorious for these kind of agitprop songs for the so called peace movement in the late 70s and early 80s. Other famous songs are „Aufstehn“ (stand up) or „Das weiche Wasser bricht den Stein“ (the soft water breaks the stone). Most of these songs are traditionals or taken from other artists like Georg Danzer with new left wing lyrics added. „Sieben Tage lang“ (seven days) is the Bots version of an old Breton traditional called „Son ar chistr“ (the song about the cidre), which was written in 1929 by Jean Bernard und Jean-Marie Prima. In WW2 it soon became a favorite drinking song for the troops. More than 30 years later the Bots changed the lyrics and turned this drinking ballad into one of their usual left wing battle songs. The message of „Sieben Tage lang“ is that we‘ll have fun together, work together, stand together, but we’ll have to fight for it. The song was well received by the communists in East Germany and the anti nuke protesters in West Germany alike. But the WW2 pictures in most KZbin vids turn the songs message around once again and pay tribute to those who sang it before. Brilliant move.
@OCTO3583 жыл бұрын

Guys. This isn’t German or Dutch. The song is a traditional Breton folk song "Ev Chistr ’ta Laou!" made popular by the Breton singer, Alan Stivel, in the early 1970’s. The original is sung in the Breton language, a Brythonic Celtic tongue whose closest relative is the Cornish language and Welsh. The Dutch band, Bots, stole the melody and changed the lyrics. They also sang this version in German for release in both west and east Germany.
@vaguelymodest623911 ай бұрын
Either way, it’s a great drinking song
@likeitout11 ай бұрын
@@vaguelymodest6239 Here’s the song played traditionally with Bombarde and the highland pipes (if you heard the sound of the traditional Breton pipes known as the Binu, you’ll understand why they’ve adopted the Scottish highland pipes in its stead). The style of dance is called in the Breton language ‘An dro’ which translates to “the turn”. Traditionally ‘Son Ar Chystre” was like all An dro songs in that the line repeats. So one singer would sing a line and a number would repeat it. Just like Bots have done with their rewrite. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYa3nWqIdq5oeMUfeature=shared If you liked the melody to this, you’ll love many other Breton melodies. The nation is rich in its music culture and unlike their close cousins in Cornwall who’ve sadly lost much of their language music and culture, the Breton have held on.

I modded this song into HOI4. Listening to it while I am casually building up my new Kaiser's Heer.
