I was there last week ( Dec 2015). It is a sad place with a sad history. You can feel it. The main deity from the Temple was stolen in the last 20+ years, and apparently there were many attempts to loot other hidden treasures. The possessor of such loot is said to have their days numbered and most die mysteriously.

Lakshmi Sharath Yes a really nice old boy. No touting at all. Asked for the 10 INR each for 4 people. I gave him 100 and told him to keep the rest. I thought he was going to kiss me, he wouldn't let us go before a photo session.

Around 400 years ago, the King of Jaisalmer notices a beutiful girl in a temple of Kuldhara village and offers marriage proposal before her father. Father denies because they belonged to Paliwal brahmin community and they get married to their same community people. As the king was determined about his marrying decision and started bullying them, girl's father holds a meeting with the chiefs of nearby 83 paliwal community villages. The meeting concludes not to marry the king. The king offers two choices to the villagers of kuldhara, either to marry her to the king or all the villagers have to leave the village. The entire village got vacated on that day and it remained a tourist attraction place. This is a story of the villagers who saved glory of the daughter and didnt let the king fulfill his lust.

So my question is , did someone died and it came back to haunt the village? or did people killed the girl and she came back to haunt the village? Technically from other video I seen is that "the man likes the beautiful girl, and the father rejected the man's proposal just because he eats meat" so..... how is it haunted ??

It is not really 'haunted' by any ghost, the old man says that is just interesting exciting story of course, but the history is true. Legend says that when Paliwal brahmins left the town they placed a curse on the town that anyone who tried live there in the future would have only bad luck and never prosper. Good video, very interesting.

ये लड़की वाली कहानी मनगढ़ंत है। पहले के समय में सूखा पढ़ने पर राजा महाराजा कर नही लेते थे। लेकिन सालिम जबरदस्ती कर लेने लगते हैं तो फिर यहाँ के लोग यहां से उसके राज्य को श्राप देकर प्रयाण कर गए। सालिम राजपूत नही थे लेकिन राजा थे जो कर लेने के लिए अत्याचार करने लगते हैं।

400 वर्ष कहा से हो गये है ।सुमाराम को पुरा पता ही नही है ।सन 1825 मे जैसलमेर से केवल 84 गांवो का पलायन हुआ था ।जैसलमेर बाडमेर बीकानेर पाली नागौर ईस सब मे 244 गांव पालीवालो के आबाद थे पलायन से पहले यूपी ऐमपी गुजरात महाराष्ट्र मे भी पालीवाल आबाद थे सबकी निकासी जैसलमेर से हुई थी ।बाहर देशो पृदेशो से पाली मे रहते समय व बाद मे व्यापार चलता था ।लिखे ऊतनी ही कम है ।शालिमसिह केवल धन व राज का भूखा था जैसलमेर राजा पालीवालो से कर नही लेते थे ईसने बेवजह कर लेना चाहा ।ईसलिये पलायन हुवा ।और कन्या(लड़की)वाली कहानी झूठी है। पंखेरू का भी घोसला छुङाने पर ऊनकी आत्म शान्त नही रहती है ।वैदिक थै ही आलीशान हवेलिया गङा हुवा खजाना सब छोड़कर के गये ईसलिये श्रापीत हुवे ।जयसियाराम ।

The elderly gentlemen clearly states "its a kahani" in his opening line. What you hear thereafter is a myth, no way connected to reality. This village was abandoned in the early 19th century after an earthquake shifted to waterbed beneath it making it dry for decades. Gradually the population migrated to different parts of Rajasthan and settled there. What you get to hear is a proper filmy story of a villain called Salim Singh who wrecked his wrath on this village, eventually forcing everyone to abandon it. You wouldn't pay him if he doesn't excites you...isn't it? Stick to history the way history is or there will be only drama left.
