Homeworld 1 and 2 are my favorite RTS games of all time..they just have a feel to them that others lack. (Ships designs are just so good, Taiidan especially Heavy Corvette is mmm)

This mod is ridiculously just... cool. Polished. It just, the music, the audio, the effects, the little DRADIS icons, all of it is picture-perfect. Remembering the several times I've watched BSG 2003. I'm also so happy to hear they're bringing back physical shooting calculations for HW3, as it was for the original. No longer can strike craft sit perfectly still, motionless, in front of a Heavy Cruiser firing all its weapons, and just Be Missed because the universe decrees large ships Can't hit small ones.

In the show, the resurrection ship is destroyed when they launch an attack on it. I think they take out two basestars too. I believe what you were thinking of was the Blackbird, which was the stealth viper that Galen Tyrol built. It takes place after the Pegasus is located and Admiral Cain takes over from Adama. Starbuck takes the stealth viper out in secret and against orders to take pictures of the resurrection ship, as I don't think they really knew what it was at the time.

after that, they use the blackbird, with Lee at the controls, to paint the ship. during the attack, the blackbird is damaged, and lee ejects. The actual destruction of the resurrection ship was carried out by vipers.

@@numberyellow Id hardly say it 'painted' the rez ship..... The blackbird fired volley after volley after volley of nukes into its FTL drive, which exploded and took it out, meaning when the vipers attack it could not just jump out.

@@Debbiebabe69 Blackbird fired ONE non-nuclear missile, to disable the FTL. the only thing i was mistaken about, was lee's role. blackbird was not there to paint the target, just to disable it's FTL drive.

And if you like space games, space sim/management games, rts in general, hell I'd even say this game on a way is a survival game too, long story short its a fucking hell of a game and a masterpiece even beyond mechanics, the story has such an atmosphere and lore in it that's captivating from the beginning, it's so fucking worth the couple of dollars it's not even funny

Interesting fact. Valkyrie Battlestar launch tubes are on the bottom of the landing bay, facing directly forward, 3 per pod, thus total of 6. On the Galactica they're also below the flight pod, but set at 45 degree angles and firing out the sides.

@@finncampbell4662 True, but this was one of the rare instances, where the short campaign felt appropriate.. standing against the entire Cylon fleet, with pretty much no support, the Theseus was never going to overcome those odds... but she sure put a hurt on them. She was a damn good ship.

The Galactica is a Jupiter class battle star. However, it was stripped down with the intent of making it a museum ship just shortly before the onset of the second colon war. As tough as it was in the series, the original configuration of the Jupiter is even tougher.

I believe the Resurrection ships FTL was disabled by Adama in the Blackbird stealth and then it was destroyed by Starbuck and a wing of Vipers strafing it.

Probably too late to say this but...the Galactica is a Jupiter Class Battlestar. That's why they looked so similar. The standard Jupiter Class still has it's First war armour and weapons whereas the "character" ship Galactica was stripped down between the wars

Did a mock battle with three modern basestars against Galactica and Pegasus in BSG Deadlock. Sweet babies basestars are OP. Literally jumping the stars all across the starfield and dumping SSM's into two venerable Battlestars for days was just too much

I never had problems with base stars in BSG-D. Generally I build fleets around battlestars and Adamants, to get the viper and missile count as high as possible. All missiles tubes are full torpedoes. Turn 1 form up broadside and launch vipers. Watch the radar blips to pick out the base ships (they are the slowest moving ones). Turn 2 clean out any base ships that dont jump using torps, set vipers on closest ships. After that set up battlestars for flak defence and just support your vipers as they take out enemy ships. When your torps reload, clean out any jumping base stars. Biggest problems are Revenants and Celestes - unlike Colonial guns that always miss if you are not on full attack posture, and usually miss ON full attack, Cylon guns generally hit every shot so these 2 ships, with masses of PD guns, can strip the armour of even a battlestar in seconds.

Can you believe it's been twenty years since both the reimagined BSG AND HW2 were released? Two aging gems featured together on one of the fist youtube channels I ever subscribed to. Well, ten years ago wasn't the ORIGINAL Homeworld. The ORIGINAL Homeworld was released by Sierra in 2000 for Windows 9x and Mac. The release 10 years ago was a remaster of the first Homeworld (and Homeworld 2) which had a BSG mod. This is a remaster of mod that's from a remaster of a classic :P

yeah so the mk 3 from the mk 2, the mk 3 gained a weapons bay for missiles and ordinance more than just an afterthought (like on the mk2) so it could go after capitals. The mk 1 and 2 were purely defensive for the most part whereas the mk 3 was actually built around a true space superiority.

I recently played it again using a GoG version but I had to install an unofficial patch called CQFixPatch. Some of the effects like the wormhole device were not showing anymore. The game was playable until the end. Not sure if I had to install a program to play the cutscenes.
