Yes woolworth was in Cleveland where I grew up and also in Lexington Ky where my parents are from and I was blessed to visit often on holidays and during summer vacations.

If you ever have the chance to go, visit the International Center for Civil Rights and Museum located in the original Woolworth’s where the sit ins happened in Greensboro, North Carolina. The museum tour begins at the original lunch counter. One of the best museums I’ve been to and what a moving and emotional experience it is.

I will try to go one day! I love to go to museums. My best so far was the Legacy Museum: From Enslavement to Mass Incarceration in Montgomery Alabama. Such a moving experience!

Wow! I remember seeing Woolworth in the UK. They called it Woolies. They have a Sizzler in Northern California. Was shocked to see it. Still haven’t checked it out though.

I remember Woolworth 😅 They still had Woolworth stores in Germany, at least until 2018, when I retired back to the US...mistake. I've seen Sears in Merida, too👍

I have very fond memories of Woolworth’s growing up. My mom would take us on the weekends with my friends and we ate at the counter. As a pre teen we would buy fake eyelashes, white lipstick and tan nylons 🤣 Thanks for sharing.
